If we're being really real, One Piece and HunterxHunter shyt on them both.

Naruto could have been legit great but part 2 was lame. Everything past the mass ressurrection was beyond TRASH.
That HxH greatness. :ahh:

Offtopic, but I just found out a few days ago Naruto has a spin off series called Boruto, where the original cast are older/parents now. The fights scenes ive seen of it so far look nice, (sakura vs that dude with the bunch of sharingins)

Goku a bytch I always argue with my cousin & students Vagetta was that nikka fr

nikka shut up. Vegeta served under Frieza who killed his race while also crying twice against him in battle, killed one the last remaining saiyans in the universe and has gotten his ass kicked in every arc of DBZ. Yet you talking about Goku being a bytch.

But you might be thinking "dragon ball inspired naruto" who gives a fukk. James brown inspired MJ, rakim inspired Jay Z and they got surpassed too.

Naruto's author had way more creative control than dragon ball z. It was obvious that dbzs creator wanted to throw goku in the bushes and have mystic gohan save the day but the fans where like" wheres goku at :damn:" and he was FORCED to make goku finish off the villains. He also had no plan to make it go longer than the frieza saga. When it came to the androids, there was only supposed to be gero and the fat one, but fans kept crying so he kept adding more. Naruto had the whole story and ending planned from the jump. And what an exiting story it was. :wow:

Naruto has a way more complete universe than dragon ball Z. There's way more relevant characters than dragon ball and they go through more character development. The only characters in dbz that develop at all are vegeta, gohan, and piccolo. Goku (the main character) is not even there half the time:dead:. Also outside of the saiyans and possibly piccolo, no hero at all is even remotely relevant in combat. Naruto had MAD characters putting in work.

Naruto also passed the torch in the sequel and let the next generation cook:salute:
while :flabbynsick: ball super STILL has goku and vegeta yelling at aliens 20 years later

No more coming at Naruto da gawd!

Naruto had the whole story planned? Are you high? :mjlol:

Naruto had literally one of the most absurd power creeps in shounen history and wasn't planned at all. Go look at the scale of something like the 3rd vs. Orochimaru or the Sannim fight then compare it to the war arc.

Tobirama went from being a water specialist to the creator of Edo Tensei and mad broken.

Naruto is a decent shounen but it got really bogged down in the war arc. Pre-Shippuden it was great.

But Naruto is only decent. Compared to Jojo Bizarre Adventure, One Piece, Hunter x Hunter, My Hero Academia, or even Toriko...it's not really that well-realized nor is the world building at those.

It's just pretty solid in most categories and has pretty fun, flashy characters.

Naruto could have been legit great but part 2 was lame. Everything past the mass ressurrection was beyond TRASH. Hell I feel like the series began to lose its potential after the Chuunin Exam

Drangon ball z fighting sequences are overrated.:hhh:

Eh...not really. Dragon ball has some pretty fun fights. Fights like Goku vs. Vegeta, Ginyu Force vs Vegeta and company, Nappa vs. Z Warriors, Frieda vs. Goku had legitimate palpable tension.

It's so ingrained in our pop culture that it's hard for those fights to have the same impact as they used to but that shyt was riveting. We know how Piccolo turns out but seeing Piccolo sacrifice his life to protect Gohan was legit because Piccolo wasn't known to be an actual ally yet. Watching Tambourine break Krillin's neck or watching Tao Pai Pai beat down Goku was legit heart wrenching.

With regards to DBZ/Naruto...I wound up being more disappointed by Naruto. By many accounts it SHOULD be better than DBZ and in certain areas it is (fight scenes, character development). My issue is how it squandered its potential. Complex issues that were written into the story were given the laziest, safest conclusions. "But its a cartoon/comic aimed at pre-teens" some might say, but I don't wanna hear that. HxH is aimed at the same audience yet Togashi does an incredible job tackling complex themes. Hell OP as wacky as that series can be tends to do a better job.

Side character in Naruto were at one point the highlight of the series. Everyone loved Rock Lee and Gai, everyone loves the chuunin exams and seeing character from different nations. Unfortunately it primarily became the Naruto/Sasuke show. The war arc tried to fixed that but was (to me) a spectacular failure. There should have been a better buildup. We should have seen the other nations throughout part play prominent roles instead of being thrown at the last minute.

DBZ may have been straight forward and simple but it's never disappointed me. Toriyama knew what Dragonball was and has kept the same tone since Kid Goku fought King Piccolo. Can't say the same for Naruto.

baby, that was the old me
It hurts me to say this.

Naruto was 10/10 & so was Shippudden :ohlawd:

...UNTIL the War arc.

It felt like the author tried to end the series as fast as possible & didn't give af anymore. Rushed through everything & at the same time dragged out the episodes to bare minimum.:snoop:

Naruto had crazy good development for side characters until the last half... seemed like the author got tired
