If Tim Tebow was a really good QB, would anyone care about him as much?

If Tebow came out and threw for 4,000 yards a year for the rest of his career, would he still be so "polarizing"? Or would he just fall in with the rest of the pack?

It seems the whole thing with him is you got one side saying he's the worst ever, and another side saying he just gets the job done.

One side concerned about his mechanics, another that doesnt care.

It's like when he was in college, he was really good/put up stats/dominated on the field.....nobody doubted him at UF.....and nobody cared about him outside of the norm cfb hype. I know this is the NFL which is different, but none of the cfb media analysts went to extremes like they do(well except Verne Lundquist and Lou Holtz :heh:) now.

Nah, I dont think so, breh.

That friction between the two sides is what creates the story.

Then you would have the whole world jocking him instead of just half. People love Tebow because he's a choir boy virgin who does everything the right way. When it comes to role model, this dude is the real deal.

Just spend 15 minutes with him. Your life will be changed. :jawalrus:

Then the hype would be understandable :manny:

Plus a ring, SB MVP and took a 20 million pay cut for the team. nikka would be untouchable.

Man im still mad he isnt going to be a starter. Really last season was one on the most exciting in the Coli. Dudes would be trashing him all game then the game would be close and here comes Tebow Time. The board would blow up and then the server would crash for the next hour.

Yea the frenzy would be even more than he is now. Didnt they say he was the 4th most marketable person in the WORLD slightly below Oprah. When you say "one side saying he's the worst ever, and another side saying he just gets the job done" you're referring to just the football crowd, Tebow's hype has surpassed that, when you're in the top-5 most marketable people in the world a majority of those people dont care about your play on the field.

I dont think he would...He's the underdog story...was supposed to be aborted before birth, wasnt supposed to make his HS football team, wasn't supposed to be so good in college, wasnt supposed to be drafted in the 1st round. He's just an underdog story and thats why the sports world loves him...if the world turns upside down and he become a legit good QB the hype will die down

So y'all telling me tons of ppl would still be tuning in to see if "he can do it again in the 4th quarter"...if he was consistent as say, Peyton Manning? :leostare:

And on a side note, the only people that give a fukk about Tebow are people who don't even watch sports, just people who heard about him through the grapevine and pull for him because he's the underdog...and a "christian"
