Nah, not a reason, an excuse. There was some legit inflationary pressure from supply lines going haywire for YEARS trying to catch up to sudden drops in demand during the pandemic, but then all corps realized we were beholden to them for our goods and whatever excuse they made, we would pay, especially fresh out of a pandemic.Stimulus spending gave corporate America a bullshyt reason to raise prices. somehow they were making record profits but only raising prices to cover costs. People are broken financially.
Corporate America hates welfare unless it’s for them.
Blame stimulus spending, a drop in a bucket compared to the trillions the Fed gave to big companies and the PPP hustle, and they can cost for years making record profits while regular people blame "inflation" and monetary policy. No, they BEEN gouging just because they can. Now combine prices being too high with the cost of borrowing going up, the companies cut staff, and now regular people are at the very end of what they can spend. Corporations got a few years of all-time gouging and not enough folks call it out for what it is. This was not the President, Congress, or any other entity outside of pencil pushing dikkheads and stockholders needing ever-growing profits.
