I had no idea you were Colombian. One of my best friends is Afro-Colombian. I met her in grad school. She is from Choco. I was suppose to go home with her last December, but school interfered. She was actually there this summer doing a STEM summer camp for the kids.

I love black American men so I would be sad. Black is black to me though, so I would end up with with a black Caribbean man, Black Latino man, or a black man from Africa. My family is Nigerian so marrying a Nigerian man wouldn't be a problem. As long as he is black I'm cool.

That's awesome; it is rough as hell in Choco, so the kids even having someone come in and expose them to something like that is cool. If you get a chance to visit Colombia in the future, you should... it's beautiful. I try to visit every other year; my mom still has family there.

Yeah, she told me it was rough there. She said most people are surprised when they hear she is from Choco and earning her Phd in engineering in the US. However, her parents are more well todo. Her dad is like a doctor there and her mom is a professor (I think). They also have a home in Bogota.

I definitely plan to visit in the future.
