Yup It had cartoon style ultra violence, i wouldn't say it was that dark. The jim carrey movie just needed a few scenes of him smashing a dudes head in with a giant mallet to be comic accurate

I don't think that it could be a straight up comedy like the original. They would have to differentiate somehow. Like others have said, make it dark like the source material. Still funny, but dark and absurd. I also have to cosign Lakeith Stanfield and maybe even Donald Glover. Get Jordan Peele, Boots Riley and Jason Blum on it.
