My parents told me it dried and messed up their scalp:huhldup:
I'm a firm believer of this...my folks had my sister and I on that wave in the 80s....and it was never a professional who did it ....it was always at an aunties house in the kitchen...shyt would burn like Hell and it was an all day affair ...fast fwd to like 88 when the box cut was coming into style my hair was like no one else's in the family it was extra dry and brittle and ppl in my family have thick hair ....not me I was 10 yrs old with very thin hair and my temples and side burns were burnt off from all those chemicals....then the waves I could get were only on one side and there was already a bald spot forming.....my dad lived until he was about 60 and died with a full head of hair....so I am almost positive as to why I lost my hair at age 27-28 because of them curls and activator

Would be the ideal but realistically, I'd just do what Eazy did with his and rock a cap at all times and call it a day.
