From 03 - 07 T.I. was the more recognizable and established solo artist (Wayne was still "finding" himself as a solo artist and had to beef up his profile to get fans to resonate with him more). When he got knocked Wayne straight up shot to the top and took his spot (tbh Kanye was gunning for #1 too, if not T.I. then Kanye was definitely the man of 07). Ultimately run ins with the law is why Tip hasn't been factor for over a decade now. He had the makings of a bonafide A list celebrity

As an Atlantan… Nope

Wayne went away for a year for a gun as well and never stumbled….

Who else was Waynes completion then? Tip was already done.

When Tip went to jail he had 2-3 people on his heels. Once he slipped they passed him up. Try again.

T.I. dropped T.I.vs.T.I.P. right before he went away though. That album also slowed his momentum. He dropped Paper Trail, did his bid, and came out with momentum, then went in again. No Mercy was another "redemption" album, but it wasn't working this time around. He still had some hype when he got out in 2011, but he was 10 years in at that point. He failed to reinvent himself artistically.

Nobody considered TI as the King of the South. TI never was on top of the Rap Game. He was top 10 for a few years.

Wayne was the King of Hiphop for a few years. Squad Up Mixtapes, Carter 1 & II, a ton of hit features put Wayne on a rap run never seen before.

This is a whole ass lie lol Jay Z coming out of retirement in 06 got swept under the rug because of what T.I. was doing. Meanwhile Lil Wayne was flopping with his daddy dropping that "Like Father Like Son" bullshyt lol.

This is cap and a rewrite. 2006 was T.I.'s year. There wasn't a rapper in the game bigger than T.I. in 2006.

Nah.

Wayne -
Carter 1 (2004)
Carter II (2005)
Like Father, Like Son (2006)
A million mixtapes and features.

Wayne was scorching everything.. :wow:

Biggest Song in 2006 was Make it Rain.

You naming shyt that didnt happen in 06 lol this nikka is a dumbass. The only thing Wayne did in 06 was that bullshyt with Birdman, which further validates what I said in the OP

Breh, T.I.'s album that year was a bigger deal than all of this.

Honestly, Wayne was in T.I.'s shadow until 2007. You could literally see the momentum shift when "We Takin Over" dropped.
