If scientific advances made it possible to pick your kids genes

I thought the genes would already be samples of what you carry & you just pick out? but what do i know
at me having kids in the first place.If your buying a car you like, wouldn't you like to know its features and customize it with tinted windows, paint job, etc?

Obviously it wouldn't come cheap so this is all assuming i had the money to afford to get it done, but i wish it was possible today. I want to be able to have the smartest genetic base i can to start any of my future children off with. Couple that with being able to choose eggs at an egg bank and thats the game-changer right there.

If everyone buys the "smart" gene, which doesn't exist because "intelligence" is a gigantic cluster of genes, then it would be normative. The only thing that would occur is the extinction of us non-enhanced folk.
