If he loses, he might run (doubt it) but there's no way in hell he wins the primary in 2016.

Several rising stars in the party that the base will prefer in 2016.

Republican party doesn't have the fear of terrorism and dirty politics to help them like during the bush years. That party needs to be heavily reformed before they can compete at the presidential level again.

The Dems aren't much better but they seem way more sane and atleast have some progressive ideas on the table.

Demographics are pointing towards younger and browner and in the GOP you start to run out of options when you place "crazy" criteria like that on the table.

If Romney loses why would he run again? The GOP had no decent candidates and everyone is disappointed in Obama. This was his best chance to win the nomination and this is his best chance to win the election.
