We have to get involved, if not this is a major victory/power shift for Russia and Iran, who are both already heavily involved, this would basically be another proxy war.

Neither of those countries are dumb enough to try the US so what does it matter? This is just imperialism at its best. Nothing new.

We've seen that movie before and we know how it ends

I think you guys are underestimating Russia and what they are capable of. Putin still hasn't got over the fall of the USSR , he's built Russia up to compete with China and the USA.

School me thoroughly on this shyt because I haven't been paying attention. I just have Syrian homies on twitter yelling false flag.

On 9/11 people we're yelling false flag, I don't think there is a single event in human history subsequent to the advent of Youtube that will not garner false flag accusations.

Basically the Syrian People took the Arab spring to the streets peacefully, and Bashar killed thousands of them and crushed them brutally. Anyone who disputes this is a liar. His father Hafez did the same thing and committed genocide on his own people, Bashar thought shyt was sweet but NOPE them nikkas woke up on his ass.

The rebels are mostly Sunni's, and contrary to popular beliefs they are not all Islamist, although they do fight toghether. The FSA has said many many times they will fight the Islamist if they try and hijack the revolution, and the Islamist seem to be breaking down.

Iran has sent their proxy Hezbollah to fight the FSA so that they can keep the Bashar regime in place. Bashar is an Alawite and they are closer to Shia's than they are Muslims, so they remain friendly.

Israel has benefited from 30 + years of Syrian neutrality in the region, why would they want an uncontrollable, risky non-friendly nation in the region, especially when Israel has also been occupying Syrian territory for the last 46 years? The narrative that Israel is trying to topple Bashar is utterly laughable. Israel and Hizbullah have become buddy buddy in recent years. Israel allows Hizbullah to control Lebanon, Hizbullah is non aggressive towards Israel, and that is how it has been and will be. Israel disciplined their children during that whole 2006 conflict, but this whole idea of Iran vs Israel is made up. Iran and Israel are on the same side right now when it comes to ME politics... that is why Israel will NEVER attack Iran and neither will the U.S. Iran has been crippled by the sanctions and low key are losing their grip, so they will do as they are told.

As far as America supporting the rebels, they have done shyt this entire time to help the rebels who routinely face weapons shortages. That being said, I hope the CIA supports the rebels and they kill Assad. The CIA supported the Mujaheddin against the Soviets, and they are probably the biggest heros of the 20th century for Muslims around the world. They mismanaged the blow back from the situation by allowing Al Qaeda to be created however for me it was a total success... the Soviets were defeated.

Did you say the same thing when Gadaffi was gone? :comeon:

Yes, that was one of the biggest blessings from the creator last year.
Please explain your rationale and reason behind this sir.

Why would his involvement *now* cause you to stan him. What's so unique about this situation?

And am I correct that you have voted in the affirmative for action on the government of the Syrian Arab Republic and Bashar Al-Assad? Yay or Nay.

I vote in favor for a no fly zone over Syria and some strategic bombing. If he at least did this, and toppled this son of a bytch, he would have done something good for some people who really need it, therefore I couldn't be totally mad at him, even though I feel like he is a reprehensible man. What is unique is the savagery displayed by the Assad regime, I have never seen this before in my life.

Have you lost your mind?

I think he has

:stopitslime:

Since when has intervention in Arab affairs ever worked out for the USA?

Why do we insist on helping people who want to see Americans dead just as much as they want Assad dead?

This is chess not checkers. The Americans are just letting Bashar accumilate more heat and hate by being a dikkhead for so long, they'll finally destroy him and stop being so hated. Clever indeed.

America has been supporting the Gulf states for almost a hundo years, that's worked out pretty well for them :ehh:

Also that Libya joint was marvelous.

I don't know if I agree with all of this, but as always I will read up and figure out my stance from the facts. I will point out that almost the entirety of your critiques of Obama (well the ones that make the most sense) are derived from your disdain about drone strikes against people deemed to be evil (no matter how inaccurate it is). But you're okay with intervening in another country to take a guy out merely because the case of his evil is clearer in your eyes. Meanwhile, in those other regions, the local governments often want the US' intervention whereas here the US is being forced to choose sides and engage in a civil war with many question marks.

I don't know how I feel about intervening, but you're right, there is a precedent for Syria slaughtering its own citizens and if found to be true, I'd have a hard time saying the world should just stand by. As much as I believe that we should stop trying to be the world's police force. Side note: I caught your little shot about me supposedly disliking Cenk...
