Let's see:

Dirk

Chandler Parsons

Mike Dunleavy

all white guys who don't have elite level athletic ability yet are still starters (Dunleavy was until injuries killed em) and Brid is better than all 3. He'd probably be just as good cause he was a helluva passer and rebounder for his size

The pass @ 1:38 is probably the most ridiculous pass I have ever seen performed in an actual basketball game.

The plethora of moves he put on @ the 2:58 mark is just :wow:

:dead: it's funny whenever a cac writer compares black quarterback coming outta the draft to another black quarterback the wanna be black panthers in the coli get all up in arms about it. Behold this thread where every single comparison of Bird is to another white player no matter the difference in game. :comeon: like Dirk? really?

He would probably average 15,6,4 in todays NBA. Chill with the he'd be one of the best players in the league shyt. That's fantasy.

Bird's shooting, rebounding, toughness translates in any era. He would have big problems defending one on one, but that's what team defense is for.

Plus he still has heart and that mentality that no one in the gym is better than he is.

That's exactly it. Bird was a killer. You can't teach that to someone.

Today's NBA is tailor made for Bird's skill set. He could abuse defenders in the post, pass out the double team. If you stay home he'd nail the jumper over you, go out and contest and he'd drive past you. He was great in the pick in roll in all aspects. If you play zone it won't matter cuz he was such a great outside shooter. Today he wouldn't have to worry about getting clobbered going to the bucket due to the rules and a tremendous lack of big men. He'd probably shoot more free throws per game, and he shot like 90% from the stripe. Defensively you could hide him in the zone. Plus, he wasn't as bad of a defender as people make him out to be. Great passing translates in any era, so he'd get his assists. Rebounding numbers would maybe be down due to the game being played at a slower pace and having less shots.

A lot of you youngsters can't stand it, but the 80's was the greatest era in Basketball. There are 30 teams today compared to 23 so the league is watered down. The rules are sissified. There are plenty of players today that would be great in any era (Bron, Kobe, Durant etc..). But there are so many role players today that get regular minutes, that wouldn't even be on a roster back then.

Larry Bird is one of the greatest craker athletes of all time. That troglodyte would beat the breaks of most of these soft a$$ ni99as in the league today. Larry gave zero fcks.

Bird was pretty athletic until his back became :flabbynsick:

In today's rules, his back would have lasted longer because he wouldn't have gotten decked like he did back in the 80's when driving to the hoop.

He'd still be a top player with his shooting ability, passing, and overall basketball IQ. Plus that dude was a competitor.

:laff: so Bird would be better than Bron? KD?

Bird wouldn't even be Melo level in the league today. :flabbynsick: he might not even be seeing Paul George or Rudy Gay word to Kolo.

Bird would still be a 20 and 10 type player in the league today. I dont know if he would be a top 3 to 5 player but he would still shine and have his moments in the league. David Lee gets 20 and 10 nightly so i know Larry Legend would do the damn thing in the league today.
