"Chained to a post in an open field, this wild wolf can never have felt more vulnerable.
He is used to being the hunter, never the prey.
But now all he can do is wait until the eagle swoops back in for the kill, its razor-sharp talons glistening in the sun.
The helpless animal leaps from side to side, snapping at the giant bird in a vain bid to scare it off.
But this eagle is a well-honed killing machine, trained to slay its prey by the nomadic eagle hunters of Kyrgyzstan.
It is the climax of Kyrgyzstan's ancient hunting festival 'Salburun', in the village of Tyup some 370km from Bishkek near Issyk-Kul lake on May 1."

I agree. I can understand "population control" of the wolves, but I think that using eagles to hunt them down is a little on the cruel side.

And this little "annual event" that they have where the wolf gets chained and killed, that's just downright cruel period :wow:

I like these threads cause animals.
But then I don't like them cause I don't get work done and cause I have to see other creatures die, i.e. wolf whose mouth was tied up.
Why'd they do the wolf like that man? The wolf is a majestic creature too.
:damn:

Every culture does things different man. To them it's okay :manny:

In our collective opinions it is disgusting. And you are right, the wolf is very regal and majestic and should always be revered as so.
