Add how he handled the Nick Hogan shyt too, that I think is connected to the other stuff and the divorce too.

At the very least he would have still retained that cool pop culture retro feel of liking to him that Austin, Taker, Flair, Rock, DX, Macho all get. He pretty much had that for like a year when he came back in 2014 on the legends deal.

I dont even think his backstage politics hurt him, cause that aint hurt how casuals view the Kliq guys. Even the steroid shyt I could see people being like "Well everyone did it"

Its not just that the tape, but I think its the years since he came back, hes not really shown any understanding of why it wasnt just a simple flub/hes only human kinda deal. He's kinda just hid in Tampa with the Trump crowd and then says asnine things every now and then (like what he said about Covid) I thought about this after he got booed again in Cody's promo on RAW and last year at Tampa. That was pretty glaring, and WWE if you noticed have just given up again including him in marketing stuff for legends even if he still gets merch made, its pretty much in the background. He dont even get like mainstream invites to things or even to comic cons/fan conventions

For a minute there it seem like he could get away with coming back to WWE shows and people forgetting, but I think seeing how some of the current stars feel about him hurt his rep again (Rollins saying hes not a good guy, The New Day being very clear they dont fukk with him).
Hes really fukked up his legacy while making it hella easy for other legends to get their flowers and get the looks from the mainstream he would. Its no longer Hogan as the babe ruth.

All of this...Hogan worked so many things around him so much that he worked himself into a shoot and killed his own gimmick...his nostalgia factor is GONE

Here is the thing for me that would have made Hogan in higher standing.
  • Retire after the Hollywood Hogan phase
  • Come back, without the NWO, as Hulk Hogan; challenging The Rock.
  • Retiring again.
For me Hollywood Hogan was the better persona, but he always need the spotlight because he was insecure about not being close to the championship. If you take away all the other stuff, that was his downfall as a wrestler... he was very insecure about his standing in the pecking order. Some guys don't need a world title run, Hogan ALWAYS needs it, because he felt like he wouldn't be a success without it.

Wild part is I would have thought Warrior's title run would teach him he'd still be the bigger draw in the company without the belt. He wouldnt need to force it, it would just be the time to put it back on him naturally when they need a boost

Indeed, but that goes to his insecurity. Feeling like someone was going to take his spot forever, and was no longer going to be the main attraction. It also delved into Hogan's realization too, that Hulk Hogan of the 80's was becoming too corny for the fans and himself. Everyone knows about Hollywood Hogan, but there was a time before that where Hogan was still Hulk, but put into some weird shyt despite being champion.

I knew about Hogan's BS in the late 90s/early 2000s because I was on message boards back then. I think one of them was Wrestlezone and RSPW. Even with the racist rants, Hogan is still on the Mount Rushmore of wrestling because of what he did for the business.

It's fukk Hulk Hogan all day and everyday but unfortunately he's a large reason wrestling is where it is today. :francis:

Absolutely, but scumbag politics and "that doesn't work for me, brother" wouldn't have him getting boo'd in person in his city of residence and just the mention of his name triggering boo's as recent as this week.

Wrestlemania 30 is a good example of where he would be, a cultural icon who WWE would gladly roll out to a huge ovation every other year or so. Instead he's a hermit down in Tampa who they don't even bother trying with anymore.

Yeah, Hogan being a complete piece of shyt his entire career wouldn't be enough to get rid of him. Warrior was :mjpls: but he died after only a few days back with WWE so his legacy is intact. Ten years before that, he had no legacy and the company was running him down but then they saw dollar signs.

It was the racist tapes, Hogan being the one behind that, and him being completely :yeshrug:about them which caused people to turn on him. Remember, WWE put him back in the HOF a couple years ago and tried giving him a second chance, but he blew it. I knew it was over when he showed up at WrestleMania last year and got booed in his home state. :mjlol:

Either 1 or 2. I think he would be more popular in pop culture than Austin due to people reminiscing about the 80s. He would probably be in commercials and guest spots on shows like The Goldbergs. Oh well :pacspit: It’ll take Trump or some recognizable Republican to use Real American as his theme song for Hogan to get over with a base :mjpls:

I guess there's many reasons why Hogan doesn't get as big a pop as Austin and Rock now but it's still kind of wild how ho-hum a Hulk Hogan appearance is these days compared to a Rock or Austin

He actually was on The Goldbergs. :russ: It was the episode where they went to WrestleMania IV and Adam and Barry ran into him. But that episode was a few years after the tapes came out. :patrice:

I hate when shows that are set in the past do that. Cast someone to play themselves during that time even though they're 20-30 years older.
Fresh off the Boat did the same thing with Shaq and DMX

But this goes back to what I was saying. First 4 years after the tapes came out, there was still some people that were willing to work with him (Netflix announced the Chris Hemsworth-Hogan Biopic in like 2019, WWE brought him on TV a little in 2019) but now its kinda like dead again. It seems like in the last year everyone remembered he was a racist before and arent having it

My guess is he thought shyt was sweet again and could do the usually high maintenance business fukkery and people were like :unimpressed: "You aint got the juice like that no more"

Of not for mr. T.
Plus mike tyson.
There would be nondraw for wrasslin.

As wrasslin draw is built off of white tears crying because rocky was against the blacm ringsports icon on film.

Then after the goblin ruined wrasslin...scsa would never hage drawn to blockbuster without mike tyson.
.they need fhe largest black ringsports characters and draas to misappropriate and create a boom.
Only reason hogun is a draw. Is white tears were shed. Rocky got owned on film by clubba lang. So they ran to the next visual owning rocky.
which was thunderlips aka Orange goblin = terry bollea = hulk hogun.

If not for me pointing out cena on reality tv. I doubt wwe would have known cena was there to use as well. As originally cena was going to get dropped before his eminem gimmick. Which eminem only exists on a national and international grassroots drawing basis.
Simply because of where i hail from in pedigree.

which is juice.

Honkey cacs can only misappropriate.

They never are original.

They need me.
They need us.

Simple as that.

he's still considered the goat to most fans because they grew up Hulkamaniacs and didn't watch any of the shyt afterwards and probably know nothing about his TNA run or the racist tapes.
