If GSP is coming back to the UFC, who does everyone think he should fight?

The obvious choice would be a title fight. However if Rory MacDonald wins the belt, that would likely be scrapped. Plus with Hendricks/Lawler happening later this year, then the winner fighting Rory (if he keeps that #1 contender status, UFC loves to take that away). That would mean GSP fighting for the belt sometime next summer or fall.

I'd like to see GSP vs Anderson Silva. The match was rumored for years, but never came to fruition. That hinges on Silva beating Diaz though, because nobody wants to see Silva on a 3 fight losing streak vs GSP.

Hendricks is another option, whether he keeps his belt or loses it to Lawler or Rory Macdonald. It's more likely to happen if he loses it, because it would be a rematch of their first bout and the timeline works out if he loses it to Lawler.

Not many other candidates out there. Matt Brown had called GSP out multiple times and they could make that fight. GSP could move up to MW and start fighting a few guys there (I assume it would only take him 1-3 wins at MW to get a title shot).

I can't think of many other guys out there who would (or should) get this fight IF St. Pierre returns. He would likely headline a card. I like the idea of a Montreal card with Rory vs the Hendricks/Lawler winner, and GSP vs Anderson Silva. That would do huge numbers, but would they stack a card that much, or save a potential GSP/Silva fight to headline a Vegas card?

Any other suggestions?

How many fights is reasonable for a title shot if he does get one is my question, "you can't expect me not to be reprimanded ", you guys take yourselves way too seriously. I guess Im used to the thicker skin of the boxing posters. Another thing is how many fights does he sign for ? He was pretty honest about his symptoms that included "lost time" which is some scary s-hit for anyone but especially for a fighter.

Are we ok now ? Want a hug ?

His first fight back I'd want to see him fight Lawler or a rematch wit Carlos Condit

If Lawler loses againt Hendricks he'll be out of title contention for a bit and is a vet. I think that would be the biggest money fight they could make for GSP at WW right now.

After that it's all dependent on what happens with Rory.

I personally think GSP will come back to a fight with Anderson Silva if he beats Diaz. I think that's the plan.

You really believe GSP is coming back?

He wants to for sure. I have no doubt about that. I'm just not sure what the plan is because of Rory. If Rory doesn't win the belt i'd put GSP coming back at almost 100% if his body is good the next month or so in training.

If Rory wins the belt i'm not sure what happens.

Good to hear. I always felt he was retiring for good.

Hendricks and then Silva

Silva and GSP both need to built up again for it to be a Superfight.

If they fought now, it be like Trinidad vs Roy Jones in boxing
It would be nothing like that. Nothing at all.

Terrible comparison :what:

He ain't getting a title shot, the phuck is wrong with you

Why not? As much as I felt he lost that decision, he left as champion. If he wants a title fight when he comes back, he will get one.

A Condit or Diaz rematch would be nice.

I don't see Woodley giving him much problems, and Lombard, Kim or Saffiedine, Ellenberger aren't going to fight him, although the matchups would be interesting.

I personally would love to see Brown fight him. Drag him into an ugly brawl with constant smothering everywhere the fight goes.

I also wanna see his bjj stack up against Nelson's, but since he lost to fukkin Story.. nah ain't gonna happen.
