If GSP is coming back to the UFC, who does everyone think he should fight?

The obvious choice would be a title fight. However if Rory MacDonald wins the belt, that would likely be scrapped. Plus with Hendricks/Lawler happening later this year, then the winner fighting Rory (if he keeps that #1 contender status, UFC loves to take that away). That would mean GSP fighting for the belt sometime next summer or fall.

I'd like to see GSP vs Anderson Silva. The match was rumored for years, but never came to fruition. That hinges on Silva beating Diaz though, because nobody wants to see Silva on a 3 fight losing streak vs GSP.

Hendricks is another option, whether he keeps his belt or loses it to Lawler or Rory Macdonald. It's more likely to happen if he loses it, because it would be a rematch of their first bout and the timeline works out if he loses it to Lawler.

Not many other candidates out there. Matt Brown had called GSP out multiple times and they could make that fight. GSP could move up to MW and start fighting a few guys there (I assume it would only take him 1-3 wins at MW to get a title shot).

I can't think of many other guys out there who would (or should) get this fight IF St. Pierre returns. He would likely headline a card. I like the idea of a Montreal card with Rory vs the Hendricks/Lawler winner, and GSP vs Anderson Silva. That would do huge numbers, but would they stack a card that much, or save a potential GSP/Silva fight to headline a Vegas card?

Any other suggestions?

Hendricks and then Silva

Silva and GSP both need to built up again for it to be a Superfight.

If they fought now, it be like Trinidad vs Roy Jones in boxing

I just don't see many (if any) challenges out there for him at WW. There's the Hendricks rematch, or Lawler, or MacDonald (which probably won't happen). Other than that, I'm not all too excited to see him beat the lower half of the top 10. At least at MW he'd be tested, and maybe he'd lose.

I feel GSP doesn't want to fight Hendricks again. Last time around he wanted the special drug testing and it didn't happen.

If Lawler loses againt Hendricks he'll be out of title contention for a bit and is a vet. I think that would be the biggest money fight they could make for GSP at WW right now.

After that it's all dependent on what happens with Rory.

I personally think GSP will come back to a fight with Anderson Silva if he beats Diaz. I think that's the plan.
