What would have been the plans for the promotion throughout the years:jbhmm:?

I would see the promotion doing the following:

  • "Extreme Joshi"
  • Finding a local syndication for a time slot (going back to their roots)
  • Internet shows to eventually a streaming service
  • Dreamer would have ended up being head booker while Heyman took over the creative side

HEYMAN: The content of the company was set to change anyway. The hardcore era was over.

WWECLASSICS.COM: What would that new style have been?

HEYMAN: We certainly would have gone toward incorporating more of a progressive, submission-based style, rather than relying on what had been hot from ’94 to ’99. We would have accepted the influence of mixed martial arts quicker than the others, but never lost sight of it still being pro wrestling. That’s where we were headed. The flaming tables and the barbed wire would’ve been saved for the big-time moments. Things were moving toward more of a hybrid style that nobody had found the niche for yet.

What if ECW didn't close? Insiders tell all

Necro Butcher would've been mentioned with Cactus Jack and Terry Funk among the mainstream hardcore kings.

Guys like Hero, American Dragon and others would've been the 2000s Malenkos and Guerreros.

Deathmatxh wrestling might have faded away still, but it would've been popular a little longer.

Wonder what would happen to CZW. They started in '99, I think.

Would ROH and TNA exist?

I would say yes.

Gabe would of wanted to go out on his own eventually anyway, you can only stay the apprentice for so long. ECW closing just sped up the timeline for Gabe/ROH. Only way ROH doesn't exist with its current name IMO is if Heyman wanted out and sold to Gabe.

Jarrett's are going to Jarrett. :hhh:

Playing along had ECW survived, Heyman learned to delegate better and modified the gore SLIGHLY it would've beaten WWE to starting an online WWE network type of presence by many years.

Listen to Heyman talk shop on podcasts.

He understood how society moved/is going to move a long time ago. Dude warned Vince not to let the UFC blow up on his watch by allowing the ultimate fighter on with RAW.

ROH was founded by Pedo Fagstein; it was his money that funded ROH. He might have just stayed doing ECW shyt.

Gabe might have found someone, tho; just don't know how long it would've took.
