Batman has basically been the same iteration in every movie with bland story arcs and no real upgrades or evolution.

At some point, they need to overhaul batman's image on the big screen all together.


It's as if Superman and Batman's iconic status is a gift and a curse because no matter what kind of movie you make, their characters are restricted to the same rules no matter what. The same story or pieces of stories get told over and over again. Same shyt, just a different color and smell.

That's even worse. Either way, the character will still be confined inside a box with the word nostalgia written on the side.

I'm not saying they need to create a new character but at least be willing to think outside the box. There is newer source material and cartoons to use. But the costume itself needs to go

Like I said, the characters are too one dimensional and their universe is too small.

Marvel took Spiderman from New York to another planet in the span of one movie while redefining the character and creating a brand new story arc.

I heard there's going to be an entire rogues gallery on display this time, seeing as how it's set with him having been batman for a while. Catwoman, riddler, falcone and penguin with possibly the mad hatter and firefly making appearances.

I think that's what they're trying to do, a new show is coming out that serves as a prequel to the new movie

"The Batman" spin-off show is now said to be a prequel to the 2021 film. It will explore how Gotham City got corrupted and infested with villains. Currently, there's no news about Commissioner Gordon or Batman's appearance in the show.

You answered your own question breh. The reason Marvel was able to do what they did with Iron Man is because @Ironman never had an iconic story other than he gets shrapnel in his chest and that's how he comes up with the armor.

That's literally the only part of the story that needs to stay the same. Everything else is negotiable.

With Batman, you're restricted. Same with Superman.

If DC was smart, they would take lesser known properties and start from there like Marvel did, stories where they have room to experiment and create a completely new lane.

Tech progresses at such a rapid rate and it affects the superhero world. When these characters were first conceived in world war II era earth the most progressive technological leap was the atom bomb.


It's alot easier to have wonderment for these characters when everyone doesn't have the same tech as them. nikkas with flatscreen TVs and "siri"s and hoverboards ain't gettin worked up over the same shyt as their 1940 - 90's ancestors.

Iron Man can progress right along with society cause he was designed as a character in a way that allows him to.

The human, street level heroes have the same issue old hip-hop artists do; either stay with the same style and look more outdated with each passing year, or jump into the new world and look outta place/try-hard.


With comic books it's easier to merge both worlds due to the nature of the medium. But when it comes to film, writers gotta navigate with a lot more finesse...

But they don't have to be restricted. IN MOS they finally changed Krypton. That was probably the best part of the movie (aside from all of Zod's parts)

As for Batman, they need to show his intellect more and show progression with the tech.

Elite combat without the uniform. More technology. Make the uniform more functional. Something. All we get is redesigned costumes and that about it.

They tried in BvS by honestly it was too late.

They don't have to be slaves to the comic book looks if they take the time to create good stories.
