Has there ever been any problem in the history of mankind in your view that isn't caused by "big government"?
I mean I know Libertarians aren't much for nuance, but human problems actually have complex and multifaceted causes sometimes that don't boil down to the number of people who work for the federal govt.

my stance is still that these type of measures and policing measures should be left up to the actual citizens of chicago, or *insert city*. if they want this, they should get it. if they dont want this, that should be the end of it. trump should not be going in against the will of chicago

1. Stop locking people up for decades over weed charges
2. Make for profit prisons illegal
3. Use the money saved from mass incarceration towards public schools, discontinue charter schools
4. Make sure everyone in the city has access to medications/treatment they need, raise taxes on top 10% if necessary (Reagan did this tax increase)

Trump put it squarely on the city of Chicago and the state of Illinois... the big govt. gun here is being framed as a last resort at least. I can respect that a little.
The real conversation is what other viable options are on the table? if any...

There have been many cities in many other places (including many US cities throughout history) with higher murder rates than Chicago (including Chicago itself in the past) and at no point was martial law necessary or justified.
I can't believe I even have to explain why imposing martial law on a major US city is bad, much less on a hiphop message board and to people claming to advocate small govt...I might have to leave this shyt alone for a minute.
