Our reputatation precedes us. If one things goes wrong with any of the above mentioned projects, people will abandon ship...even blacks. That's what I'm saying....we need to fight for our reputation much more than that is right now. Of course I worry about our overall image because believe it or not, THAT shyt affects me on the daily. People think black people are like the rest of black people....and the "rest" of black people that is being referred to is low-class thugs and hooligans. I shouldn't have to wear casual clothes and business attire for people not to fear me. I don't see OUR people looking at cac men in flip flops, cargo shorts and shades as a threat when he's in the park. But yet, that description matches about 80% of them and could easily be used to stereotype the pervs who prey on kids with no other physical traits needed/necessary.

Man stop moaning like a woman and get to it. There is nothing that you can do but handle your own business and help the community by practicing group economics, patronizing black owned businesses and raising a strong black family. Our rise is going to take generations not days weeks or months or even years. GENERATIONS. Most insight you will get from the self hating jiggaboos that populate this site is worthless. While, I do think we as Black men are on the bottom of the totem due to a combination of systematic influence and social perception which is heavily influenced by the media and other outside factors, I also think that we have great potential to move up as a collective. But first we can't let how others perceive us take so much of a hold on our collective confidence whether it be positive or negative. We need to start by taking ownership of the products we consume as a collective, particularly when it comes to things we consume on a regular/semi-regular basis. We need own our medical practices, we need to patronize our lawyers, we need to establish more banks, credit unions and the financial institutions. This is not something I expect us to achieve in our lifetimes but we can start sowing these seeds now. I can't control the way others see me, but I can control the way I see myself.

No, @Klyk21 is saying black men need to do better in certain avenues. You, on the other hand, are basically saying black men are inferior "socially" (what does this even mean?) and "financially" (most minority men are financially disadvantaged next to the majority men, that's called white privilege; that doesn't make them inferior). What you're saying is subjective and telling. There are many women who don't think black men are inferior "socially" at all, believe that black men have other factors which make up for financials, or else are willing to build with black men. You're just a lame. And for the record, one could make the same arguments for black women as you make for black men.

Asian couples lead in terms of income and education. Black people are not even comparable to other minorities. Blacks lag behind everyone not just whites.

The pole is arbitrary and contrived so blacks have it harder. In other words, the rat wheel which black men run on is lopsided and purposely so such that non-blacks have it easier. Many women appreciate black men with what they offer and want to build with black men. Racial pride and progress are ultimately more important than whether cacs in cac society, or immigrants in cac society, make more money or are higher on the lopsided social totem. These things are basically just invisible ladders. Any black women who judges their race as worthy or not based on financials or social status is not worth considering as financials and social status change eternally. Many women don't capitulate to white supremacy and declare themselves slave to it as @Miranda does. Though black men and society can certain improve, the assertion that we are lesser than others is wrongheaded.

Who are these women? You are reaffirming what is op is saying. I have rarely hear you guys talk about what you can do as men to counteract white supremacy without mentioning non-black women wanting y'all sexually. How is that an achievement?
