The consumerism is a HUGE factor. As @Deacon Frye stated... black Americans aren't sending their money to another country. They are spending it because they are fully involved participants of the American economic system.

I'm gonna tell you something about many imigrants... they send some % of their money home.
Also many 1st gen people actually go back to their home country after their kids have grown and made it.

America lives on debt and spending. After you retire, they WANT you to spend that big ass 401k. They dont want you to cash out and go build a mansion in Nigeria.

Black Americans are far more desirable economically than any immigrant population. Trump and his buddies will never admit it, but its true.

I think if we were to leave there would be a shock and definite economic impact felt initially, but I believe the country would adjust. America would fly under the radar just like all these other small homogeneous countries.

Universal programs would pass, and I believe the country would tighten their immigration policy even more. Once we go, it’s going to be tough for any other group to get in or return; including us.

Your post contradicts itself. You speak of bringing manufacturing jobs home. Cool. But then you speak of automation which would make those jobs obsolete. Than you speak of off shoring jobs. So basically your saying America will bring in a ton of immigrants who will eventually have no job and can’t fill the void left by us leaving
