First of all, finding alien life right now seems like a long shot considering the limits of technology

Even if we do find an extraterrestrial planet, like you said, it’s gonna take time just to get a message out there. Let alone learning how to communicate. Probably be a process of thousands of years. Science fiction writers have been theorizing about this for decades, but it’s only speculation until it becomes reality.

You are forgetting that a.i will play a major part in finding other lifeforms in the universe.What can take a thousand years could probably be figured out in decade or less.
Our biology is what limits us from becoming the beings we aspire to be.
