@J Reid I misunderstood your post initially, forgive me. Hmm, I understand where you're coming from. It's true that we never know how we'd react if the tables were turned. Society greatly values beauty; as a result, very attractive people are given a pass and research has even shown that they're more likely to be hired than their less attractive counterparts. In addition people naturally gravitate towards them. Corollary, this could lead them to behaving more selfishly because they've never been held accountable for their mischievous ways.

On the contrary, society expects more humility for those deemed unattractive by our culture's standards. Therefore, a particular soul might act more humbly, because he/or she feels they have to; however, if they were born into a more 'beautiful' physical body, their 'real' nature might have surfaced. Thus it is their environment which has shaped their personality, not their 'true' nature. I think that's what OP is saying. He has a valid point as there is a causal relationship between personality and environment, but I wouldn't argue it is the driving force.
