not necessarily true that he'd get to 4000+ if he started here earlier. the reverse stat projections say so but who's to say he wouldve developed the same or a franchise would have given him the ABs necessary. he was clearly good enough but i wouldnt write it in stone as a guarantee. either way he's a ridiculously easy 1st ballot HOFer and is wildly underrated. had one of the all time great skill-sets with accomplishments to back it up

Good point.Outside of size and power Ichiro was damn near perfect player.Let's not forget his arm and range

agreed. there was always that pseudo-myth that went around about him being able to hit 30, 35+ hrs if "he felt like it" but as a lead-off and with his speed he thought that was the better way to approach hitting. not saying it was or wasnt a myth because clearly there was evidence via batting practice/credibility of his skill with the bat and power potential but it always had me :patrice: nevertheless. Woulda liked to see him in a HR derby for that reason.

That's worth some $ right there

i had a (literally) 1/1 A-Rod Pacific Private Stock Patch card from his time on the Mariners. Sold it for $450 bucks right when he got to the Yankees. Then he got popped for PEDs a billion times and might get black-balled from the HOF. Could still have gotten more valuable over time but Im glad I cashed out on that. Pulled it from a pack too..put it immediately in a case and got that much without it being graded by PSA or anything. :blessed:

correct. i actually have had a very good baseball card collection since i was young but that was probably the crown jewel. I had a couple limited edition rookie autos sell for about 100-150 and i sold them early because i knew the players would be busts. sold a bagwell "ball" card for a lot. still have a bunch of bat and jersey cards around the house somewhere but i stopped collecting a long time ago. ill always wonder about the value of that a-rod card because there is nothing to really value it against since its the only one in existence and pacific private stock stopped making cards right after...thought it was the safe move to sell while there were rabid yankee fans hype about the acquisition. i remember checking price guides for about 10 years hoping to see it listed but a price was NEVER next to the listing and still isnt.

on ebay, ,there are only 5 pps patch cards for sale, with chipper and piazza being the most at 79 and 100 respectably so i won

Collecting cards is a lost hobby, especially in this day and age.Glad you was able to cash out while you can.I don't know market in 2015,but a lot of cards price has dropped I'm assuming.$150 ain't bad tho :patrice:

"Chicks who dig home runs aren't the ones who appeal to me. I think there's sexiness in infield hits because they require technique. I'd rather impress the chicks with my technique than with my brute strength. Then, every now and then, just to show I can do that, too, I might flirt a little by hitting one out."
