There’s teams who kinda tank especially last year but weren’t fully committed to being one of the few worst teams in the league and ended up in the 7-10 range

This gm seems to get you can’t just be mediocre or kinda bad in this league you needed to be awful for a few years and give yourself the most chances to get franchise players.

I could be wrong and he could fear for his job safety and in a year or two look to overpay free agents and make a run at the 8th seed but it seems as if the gm is comitteed to fully rebuild/tank for at least the next few years.

Schlenk has the full support of our owner Tony Ressler to do what he wants and remake the entire basketball operation. You're seeing these moves happen as a reflection of the fact that he does have that job security. There's no expectations for this team to compete for at least 2-3 years
