For sure. It was an event. Mainly because the difference between now and then is we went to the world whereas it comes to these kids.

partly old head barbershop babble because the market determined that albums werent really getting spun all the way thru and artists simply moved to support that. ringtones, radio, and simple market growth really kicked off the landscape of singles nowadays. you cant blame artists for that. isley brothers put out that huge single with beyonce, nobody listened to their album it was attached to.

on satellite radio they'll play whole albums thru. you try that on terrestrial radio and you probably get fined.

97 was the last year *that I can remember at least* that hip hop was FULL of novel typle albums, it felt like it started the single trend in 98' (too me at least)
