Haven't watched video but only reason the Hughes brothers would have offered him the role was for financing. Since he made his mark in Boys in the Hood.

Their film was already going to be compared to Singleton's film, but casting Cube would have made it worse.

Larenz Tate is the best actor in the film, by a wide margin.

Larenz Tate is a very terrifying person as O Dog, I think we all know a nikka that's like "man that was my boy when we were young, but I can't be around that nikka" and I think of that person every time I see that move


Yup. Being friends with the dude you gotta have “the talk” with in the car before you bring them anywhere nice is exhausting



Larenz was about as perfect of a casting as you were gonna get for O-Dawg
