Sounds funny but how would that premise fit the motif of “Friday” where every movie is supposed to be one day :dahell:
Wasn’t next Friday over the span of like 3 days? Or maybe the Xmas one? It’s been so long I can’t remember.

I went to a comedy club around 2015 and John Witherspoon was the headliner. He flat out told us the next Friday movie was in the works and he was so excited. When I tell you the crowd POPPED when he said that :wow: Nikkas was hi fiving like they won a championship. Women were screaming. Everybody left the club buzzing. We really thought we had some background info and we was hype.

A few years later Spoon died and no mention of the new Friday movie was ever put out :mjcry:

If this was a separate movie on its own unrelated to the Friday franchise and its characters, then it might have worked as a standalone flick starring Cube and Epps.

There have been plenty of prison comedy movies in Hollywood, but the issue imo isn't the prison script but the introduction of a rehab run by Smokey and how all of that supposedly fits into one day (Friday) is what probably really threw off the movie executives.
