I know this is a thread that was started just to get attention but even the worst stans on Sohh never reached this hard. Seriously some of you need to stop it with this stuff, it's bad enough some people actually believe it. Ya'll should appreciate The Goat while he's still here and dropping gems 20 years into the game not reaching like Mr. Fantastic.

The sheer amount of respect that Nas gets from people in the industry should be proof enough that Nas is legit when it comes to his pen game. Think about it, some of the greatest rappers to ever put pen to paper give the utmost of respect to Nas. Kool G. Rap, Rakim, KRS-ONE, Common, Biggie, Prodigy, Big Pun, Raekwon, etc. have ALL at one point or another paid homage to Nasir's lyrical capability. Jay-Z damn near worships him, Kanye West called him the greatest rapper ever. I HIGHLY doubt he would be put on such a high pedestal by his contemporaries if he was using ghostwritten lyrics. Besides that, how the hell would the industry keep that a secret for 20 years? You think Prodigy, 50 Cent, Cormega, or any of the people Nas has spent any amount of time with over the years who he's beefed with wouldn't use that as leverage to degrade him? And thirdly, Nas is a ghostwriter HIMSELF. He's written for Foxy, Will Smith, Dr. Dre, Diddy and I'm sure a host of others.

All in all this thread is garbage and the theory holds no weight

not really. infact nas's consistent terrible grammar in his rhymes shows me he's always written his own rhymes. nas has writting style that no other emcee has.

for people saying "he's never matched illmatic so it's fishy", this is not true. illmatic is highly praised because of it's "perfection" but any true fan could tell you he has many songs that are just as good if not better than illmatic lyrically.

I think there is something to this. I've always felt like either Kool G. Rap or some other Queensbridge hustler was feeding Nasir that cold game on Illmatic which is why he was never able to repeat the same level of realness after that.

Add to that, the only other track I feel he bodied mercilessly happens to be 'Fast Life' which also has Kool G Rap on it.

It's almost blasphemous some of the struggle bars I hear from this negga considering he supposedly 'wrote' all of Illmatic.

Co-sign threadstarter, somethin don't add up. :stopitslime:

:scusthov: it was written he was just as good.

take it in blood is his arguably his most impressive verses
