His debut album has aged horribly thanks to all those outdated references

He fukked himself over with all those forced pop culture punchlines, he didn't need to do all that. His storytelling/introspective songs on that album are dope. He had a standout voice, a decent backstory, and his flow was pretty good for a rapper who tries too hard to cram too many words into one bar.
