Idk where to start
Not necessarily the bs or ms route either. You could achieve it in 2yrs if you did network certs or database certs. You only need 3 certs to land one of those 80k remote gigs. The first one is 3months of studying while the second is about half a year if you are already working full time. The final one takes a year.

I do it , not all it's cracked up to be

For me, I don’t like it either. I was previously a field tech and also worked a large campus. Sitting in the crib in front of a computer drives me nuts. I like to be active and out and about. Also I noticed with my current job, everything is metric based. Where as my other jobs I may only work 2 hours out the day and be good so long as everything is going well, my remote job they are watching everything. I know it’s more unique to this job though. I’m about to work on transitioning back away from remote.

Yeah it's not like that at my job
It's cool because it let's me learn a lot
But I don't want to deal with this amount of stress longer than I have to

You know what kills me the most about people who just waste time in TLR getting stuck in whatever flavor of the month internet war while their finances and lives are all fukked up?

There’s not just a whole forum, but a whole thread littered with information, real life examples of brehs on this site making it, and people willing to help. All you need to do is ask and put in the work.

I spent all day in bed watching Netflix.

#certgang #6certs6figures6passports is not just a coli meme. There’s real money out there, go get it.

If getting an IT job ain't hard for you then why don't you just apply for the remote roles?
I already have an IT role
I work at a small MSP as support desk
I was doing field service before this but this job allows me to do more
I can move up to network analyst aka field service in MY current role, but I don't want to be here that long
Don't like the stress or the environment
Been here 6 months

I want to transition to a role that's more specialized, but I don't know what to focus on
Thinking of getting AZ-104 next

That's why
It's easy to get in
But I don't know where to go to get the lifestyle I want
(In terms of career/cert path)

Oh nah, MSP's are trash. My first IT job was one and I'll never go back. Billable hours can kick rocks.

Do you have any certs? Is there any part of what you've done so far that seems interesting?

I got a degree in cybersecurity in 2015, never had a job working in the field and somehow got an IT WFH position last year, from the company I work for, just by being in the right place at the right time. Just goes to show that it pays to know people in high places.
