I watched Boomerang last night on netflix, and I have some questions.

The answer is it had to do with Robin Givens high status within the company...
Robin's character was actually higher than Eddie's in the movie, compare that to Halle Berry who had a very low level position in the company...

So even if Halle looked better than Robin, Robin was bringing just as much bread to the table as Eddie, and Eddie was banging women to the point of kicking a dyme out of the bed for having ugly feet... So looks wasn't everything because he could have any woman he was after, that's why he was so sprung off Robin because she wasn't easy to get...

I'm not saying she was like Eddie, but she probably was. Halle was either a new hire, or she was with the company that acquired Marcus'. The latter is much more likely. This is why they were flying out of state together, and she had a high level job when she left towards the end. You were making like they weren't in the same realm, and they definitely were.

I was watching this on Netflix the other day, and I was wondering: why doesn't this movie get more burn on TV? I mean, I see Soul Plane and Baby Boy on TV more times in a month than Boomerang. I was truly feeling like when I was watching it.

Outsiders get too comfortable and start telling us what authentically black and not.

Right before Boomerang, Robin had just come from playing a sexy character in A Rage In Harlem.

She had rejuvenated her image into being a black film siren.

Halle was the beautiful girl from Strictly Business, which also came out before Boomerang,
but she wasn't necessarily viewed as sexy and potentially dangerous in the
way Robin was perceived. They were cast perfectly for the time.
