Am I the only one who notices the racial undertones???

Im not sure if this has been discussed at the time it happened, cuz like I said I wasn't watching but... this is eerily similar to...

The biggest oddity of the pic is Bobby Lashley being ECW Champion. Wtf was that all about anyways, why even call it ECW

If Lashley wasn't the champ in a prominent match, Vince is :mjpls:

Since he pushed Lashley with the same force and enthusiasm he did with Reigns ( I WAS watching during this time and they did the super push for Lashley), had the ECW belt at the time, in the most talked about match of the night, and won..somehow Vince likes to watch slaves kill each other
:usure: some of you (most of you) will just never be happy

This was not something voiced at the time, at all. You're only thinking it's a thing because of the Trump 2015-16 presidential campaign and his supporters.

Altho I think OP is reaching, your point doesn't mean he couldn't be right.

Just because something isn't realized in the moment, when you look in hindsight and add up evidence, you can see things.

Biggest :mjbytchpls: thing that I remember overlooking from back in the day was that time that DX came out as The Nation.

DX (crotch-chopping and such) was so damn over when I was in middle school and Jason Sensation-Owen Hart imitation was so classic that I didn't realize until years later that they were in blackface for that segment. :lupegarvey:

Same awkward feeling when I reflect how much I like Robert Downey, Jr. as Ironman and think, "fukk. He was in blackface for 'Tropic Thunder'", though the context actually worked in that movie...so it's not as blatant as the DX skit but damn.

I'm just surprised that I didn't even question either one until so much later like...:ohhh: :what:

Ehhh, Vince loved him some Lashley. Dude probably nutted everytime his theme hit
they did everything "we" hate that they do, for him, when it's done to people like Roman. Put him over everyone, rushed him to a prominent position, put him over smark favorites. If he had gotten more over and could talk better (he sounds like a baby) he would hhave gotten the SD or Raw title. To ignore or deny this is either A) because it doesn't fit the narrative that Vince has never pushed a black wrestler (I won't even bring Dwayne Johnson, 2nd biggest WWF star of the Attitude Era, into this) or B) pure mental retardation. After 2007, The Michael Hayes business and the rumors that they wanted him to do a Mr. T -type character, I don't defend at all, but he got a humongous push before all that

Yep, but people didn't bat an eye much cause he could wrestle. Funny thing is, Lashley in his current gimmick would be such an asset in the WWE that they wouldn't have to force, especially since he's world's better at promos now. You could easily swap out Brock for Lashley and they wouldn't miss a bit, and lowket would probably get better programs.
