Well, look at it this way, you're still a little bit cooler than the "I know you've all probably been wondering" guy from this morning.

:yeshrug:

um ok.

No you arent' a hypocrite
At least you WERE listening to Lupe even if after someone wack like Gucci

See you can not be a hypocrite without being insanely consistent with your choice in music

I listen to Lupe, Nas, Saigon, Elzhi, Eminem, Papoose, Zion I etc...
But if i'm at the gym I may bump some music that's on some other ish like gangsta 50 Cent music, Lil Wayne or some other nonsense if the music is hype

If I were you I would argue with him, but that's just me, I too much into debating

Tell him to create a username on the coli and that Baphomet wants to debate with him
I'll take care of it!

There's a lot of weird dudes in public transportation
The other day this gay crew came in the train showing mad chest hair sitting with every passenger one by one promoting homosexuality
Not the acceptance of it but you converting.....

Crazy ish!
I feel that folks should be able to listen to whatever artists they like without being called a hypocrite...I look at it this way...rappers are rapping about the things theyve went thru in their lives...no matter if its the trap, street life, love, being pro black, anti gov. etc what ever floats their boat. And if I choose to listen to what ppl consider ignorant music, I should be able to do so in peace.:ahh:
Hopefully that was my first and last time seeing this guy...I wouldnt call him an old head but he was at least 38-45. I shouldve asked him what was he doing on the train with street clothes on at that age :bryan:

but I'm not a mean person.

If I hated a rapper that much I wouldn't be able to recognize his songs coming from headphones across from me :usure:

listen to walking lick real loud on some cheap headphones...gucci mane has a very distinctive flow/voice and lets not act like he never had any songs on the radio.

I remember one time, a middle aged white woman tapped me on the bus and said ":why: are u listening to music full of women being called funky hoes for" I was like ":ohhh: u can hear that?"

It depends on you and what you take from the music, Marty.

If you listen to Nas and Lupe Fiasco simply for their talent and don't care much about the importance of the message behind their music, then I don't think it's hypocritical to enjoy artists who are directly against what they stand for.

If you vibe to the message that both Lupe Fiasco and Waka Flaka are preaching at the same time then I would say you're confused though. I have a problem with people like that. You can't rock to "ITAL" by Lupe and be like "Damn, someone's finally spitting that truth our people need to hear" and then play some Rick False next and be like "Rozay spittin that real shyt. He a real nikka. nikkas that ain't rockin' with this ain't real nikkas."

Stand for something or fall for anything.

But hoenstly, hypocrite is a strong word. We all have hypocritical qualities in us. As long as your primary principles remain in tact at all times I don't really see much of an issue.

Artists like Andre 3000, Kendrick Lamar, Blu and Black Thought are my all time favorites. Their message vibes with me and those are the type of emcees I cite when people ask what kind of hip hop I like, but I can still enjoy a Rick False or Kanye song in the right setting. It's not like I'm going to hear it bumping heavy in the whip with my friends and have the :scusthov: on like the beat and the hook aren't flames you know? I just don't draw anything from what their saying...I don't take it to heart, I almost never have their albums/songs on my iPod, and I don't listen to the shyt by myself.

This is just my views by the way. nikkas who are somehow hardcore Lupe and Waka Flocka Flame stans at the same time(I'm sure they exist) need not attack me.
