To be fair, most people aren't in a position where they can work part-time and support themselves comfortably, much less work part-time and have enough money saved up to take care of themselves in case something happens. If you have a part-time job that pays that well, I'm happy for you, but I'm just saying. That's a tall order for most people.

That said, I do agree with the idea that life is too short to spend all of it working. I recall reading an article suggesting that one of the top regrets of dying people (especially men) was that they spent too much time working and missed out on other things. I'll probably be called a lazy freeloader for saying that but I think it's a good point.

I just know how to really manage my money. Live below your means. Just because you can push a beamer...doesn't mean you should. Just because you can live in a 5 bedroom house doesn't mean it's in your best interests to do so. I drive a car that was manufactured in 2000. Why do I need to drive a fancy car? It's just to get me from point a to point b. I live in a one bedroom apartment. It's just me, and I don't have a girlfriend at the moment so I'm by myself. And when I get a girlfriend, she will sleep in the bed with me. It's a queen sized bed and the closet is walk in.

The problem is, people live at the very EDGE of their means. It's sad when in reality you end up losing it ALL when you die!
