If you don't want to do IT, :yeshrug: look into Information Systems & Operations Management... Take your PMP certification after or during. It's a very broad field.

If you're not sure, then start at a community college and get your general educations out of the way. By the time you're done, you should have had enough exposure to kind of have a direction planned out.

I was the same way for a mintue,

Then I started getting money :leon:

Then I started getting good money :krs:

Then I started networking with people who were REALLY getting money

I realized school isn't for everyone, Yes it always helps and I'll never be one to down going to school. But if you know how to network well, keep your important skills sharp and have a good work history and experience. You can win in your field.

I still think about going back to school at times. But honestly I wouldn't be doing it for me. It would just to show my son that I got a degree too. But he is older now and he understand how it goes, he knows I'm not hurting for money but he also knows I had to work 2xs hard to get this point cause I bullshytted in college. But if you don't want to do for yourself and your doing it just because or for someone else. It won't work out...

General ed major is different than general ed requirements. You can fulfill your gen ed requirements and still have an undeclared major. It will take about a year (full-time) to get your Gen ed requirements complete and if you can't figure out a major by then, OP, I don't know what to tell you

Yeah, exactly. The easiest part will be taking those general ed requirements. Although at first it'll be a challenge because it's been a while since I've actually been in school with the exception of when I went back last year for like 2 weeks until I dropped because I didn't enough money to keep finish paying for my payments on the classes I was enrolled in. The hard part will be just figuring out what I want to major in because I don't have a clue or anything that really interest me.

oh i see i thought he was talkin about the actual degree

Yeah, I was talking about just the general ed requirements.

See that's the thing... I started at a community college a few years back when I first graduated high school because I never really applied myself and worked hard in high school and my grades reflected that.

I was always like a C average student for the most part, with a B or 2 here and like a D there. But I never really did as well as I could have in high school. So when it was time to apply to colleges senior year I already knew that I had bullsh*ted so much that community college was going to be the next step.

But when I graduated I wasn't really ready to go to school yet but my mom insisted that I did, meanwhile my dad was more so like "just get a job so that you can save money and have money" while you at home. But I ended up going to a community college for like a year and did ok in like 2 classes while the rest of the classes I either skipped or just didn't try at all.

Community college reminded me so much of high school but the thing is I couldn't see the bigger picture of having to do really well in order to get out of there and transfer to a 4 year university. Plus I just think I wasn't ready to go to school at that point. But after working many different sh*tty jobs, I know I want to go back so that I can get a career that I can benefit from.

I don't think school is supposed to be enjoyable, tbh. Major in something that's going to put you closest to employement once your degree is obtained. You can save the "fun" classes for a minor or something.

Oh nah, I never said "fun", I just said I think the easiest part will be taking those classes that I'm required to take because I know I have to take them. It'll just be a challenge trying to figure out what it is that interest me the most as far as a major goes. But I understand that school is work or a job itself.

Might as well get your english classes, history classes, math classes and other general education requirements out the way. That's at least 45 credits to keep you busy. You would get 1 and 1/2 years out the way, time is one thing you never get back.

Now I manage accounts for a non-profit organization.

But when I really came into the workforce I started doing insurance.

You don't need an degree to be an insurance adjuster or sales and once you get in the door and prove yourself you can climb ladder and leap frog people who already have their degree.

I got the point when I was working at Geico that I was a team lead and everybody on my team had degrees except for one and myself.
