You want egg scramblers. CannonBall Adderly or Sonny Rollins. Some of Coltrane's stuff like is kind of angry or furious rather.
You have any good albums from them, their normal stuff seems pretty laid back in comparison
It’s not Angry jazz it’s Spiritual jazz, but this is what you’re looking for

Spiritual jazz was birthed here...

I’m looking for stuff like the 20 min mark of the first vid, I couldn’t find anything under spiritual jazz.
I figured he wanted the egg scramblers like Adderly or early Rollins or I guess Bird also had some of that passion and fury.
Yeah I’m looking for that kind. Does it have a name beyond egg scramblers? Is there a specific genre in jazz?

Bebop. But not all bebop musicians play with that fury.

You might be right, there’s really no such thing as angry jazz but when he said loud and like Kendrick would sample I immediately thought Pharoah Sanders.

Even though in his old age he’s quieted it down a lot.

This might be the best music I’ve ever heard in my life.

Ive been in serious contemplation since it came out.

Definitely album of the year any genre.

A lot of good stuff in here, but it's a lot more simple than that.

Just look up the jazz samples of your favorite MCs and then find the original songs & you make a playlist of jazz songs that you already know due to them being sampled, so you already have a familiarity.

Next, you just look into more music by the guys who make the songs you like

For Example

The best way to get into anything is to find it in it's most accessible form

Hip-Hop is the perfect primer.

WhoSampled is a great resource to find great jazz records sampled by Q-Tip, DJ Premier, Dr. Dre, Kanye, and everybody else.

Just go there and grab a bunch of tracks and explore them and the artists that made it.

You'll be into jazz in no time. :yeshrug:
