Yeah, I made this thread after watching those vids in the OP, but before I watched the Latin Kings interview, and before the nikkas on those vids in the OP started beefing with each other online and some of them ended up telling the truth about the real origins of the NYC Bloods and their "lessons."
Part of the reason I wrote that long ass post just now a couple posts up.
All that gangbangin shyt in NY is goofy to me from an outsider's perspective, but I also have to recognize that at this point, 30 years have passed and there are adults that have lived with the reality of NYC bloods and crips for their whole lives, so it's really not my business to have an opinion on it at this point.
But I can speak to the effects that the culture of NYC had on me before the gangs took back over and how that whole scenario affected me and nikkas like me.

Just as a personal point, my attraction to wanting in was that the two dudes who really influenced me were known hustlers. They just happened to be bangers but the entire aura of their "hood celebrity" status is what drew me in...

Get money/hustler nikkas never went outta style because everywhere you see Bloods and Crips you see these hustling street nikkas. The irony here is the same culture that glamorizes gang culture, glamorizes dealers and even robbers to an even greater degree---->nowadays add the glamorization of "scammers" to that list...
Not to get too preachy with it but what really needs to trend in style is devaluing the fetish much of our culture has with these types too...

We all can seem contradictive when all we’re reading is people’s written words without understanding the real character of the person and how they communicate.
I figure over time, the more I post, nikkas with good comprehension skills will be able to understand that they may not agree with a lot of shyt I post, but they have a pretty good enough sample size to understand the underlying motives behind what I post, and know I’m speaking from an honest place with the best intensions.
