This IKF Redemption Arc is beautiful cinema.
Gotta give the kid time. The talent is clearly there. His homers are always at the right time. Anyone else notice Gleyber’s average is steadily climbing since he got moved into the leadoff spot? It’s up to .272 now with a .350 obp which I think is a career high. What if he actually fits as a leadoff manVolpe
Much needed HR

Kinda have to now with no Benintendi to hit leadoff when his skill set was an ideal fit in that spot, with Cabrera looking totally lost, and DJ looking as of late. Gotta ride the hot hand.I basically said it last year. Torres in the leadoff role is the way to go.
Better for him because he’s able to be aggressive early in the count.

Donaldson by the end of last year was looking 2011 Mike Bibby/2013 Jason Kidd levels of . Dude would stare at an 83mph meatball dead center for strike 3 at least 2 times a week and then smile on his way to the dugout. He was getting blown away by 90mph high center. Spent most of the year struggling to keep his obp above .300 and his slugging percentage ended up around .375 for the year. Then there’s all the outs he ran into on the bases by celebrating a homer that didn’t leave the yard. He brought bad vibes all year. By mid July we need to see peraza playing the infield & another outfield prospect for left. If they’re not gonna spend money to bring in stars at positions of need or trade the young guys for stars, then the young guys need to play so we can find out if they’re good.Waldo might get sent down since Donaldson is coming back this weekend.
As for DJ, he honestly has been a decent 5 hole hitter. Just hasn’t run into luck as of late.
No reason Stanton and Donaldson should bat 4 and 5 respectively when they come back.
DJ should protect Stanton from here on out.

I think the pitch clock might be an issue for Nestor. His ERA has gotta be more than double what it was last year and he doesn’t get to do his stuff where he messes with the batter’s timing since he’s gotta hurry to get his pitch out before the buzzer. He’s still really good through the first 4 innings but unplayable beyond that. They gonna have to do the opener strategy for these Cortes start at this rate.

Boone having the worst feel for the game you could imagine isn’t helping him either. He’s left him in an inning too long the last I think 3 starts when it was obviously time to get him out in hopes of saving the reliever who he ends up having to send in after Nestor gives up more runs. He’s probably given up an extra 7-9 runs this year off of that.Yeah definitely the pitch clock has affected him to a degree.
