I know that it's early, but I said it during the offseason. This team is a pretender. Until they can make the World Series, I don't want to hear anything about the Yankees.

This is the same ol' Yanks that we've seen for years now, and I'm beyond tired of it. :yeshrug:
they have cashman and boone, that alone nicks any chance of them in the world series.

It's April 24th and some of you guys are overreacting because the Yankees are 13-9.

There's nothing surprising about the Yankees so far.

We knew Aaron Hicks wasn't good.
We knew Josh Donaldson was unlikely to return to form.
We knew Gleyber Torres was an average player who sometimes gets hot and often gets cold.
We knew Stanton was bound to get hurt at some point.

What's the shock here?

Judge is great.
Cole is great.
Rizzo is off to a good start -- maybe because of the defensive shift changes, maybe he's just a bit hot.

The Yankees still have Severino and Rodon waiting to join the rotation. And Rodon (when healthy) is as good and dominant as Cole.

This isn't projected to be the top-scoring offense this year so get that out of your minds right now.
You hope that Volpe adjusts quickly to Major League hitting and you hope for health out of Judge and the starting rotation.

If that happens, the Yankees will be very competitive come October.
There probably isn't a big time bat available this summer in trades so what you're looking at is mostly what you're going to get.

Stop bytching. Some of you act like the team should win 114 games. This aint 1998.

No one is expecting the Yankees to win 114 games. That is such a baseless statement.

Also, saying "it's just April" doesn't mean much. We've seen this same story for the last 5 years now (honestly longer).

These excuses are why Brian Cashman got a contract extension despite accomplishing nothing of note in almost 15 years.

Just making the playoffs isn't the Yankee standard; winning them is.

"It's just April" means literally everything.

It's not even a month into the season.
bytching about the Yankees is the same as going crazy about the Pirates.

By September, the reactions to each of those things will be laughable.

It's easy to sit around as a fan and bytch about Brian Cashman because the Yankees haven't won the World Series since 2009.

The reality is -- winning World Series titles is really hard. And there are no obvious replacements for Cashman anyway. What GM is out there that's going to be better? And what is that GM going to do differently?

The Yankees have had one of the best farm systems for the last few years now. They've spent big to keep Aaron Judge and get Gerrit Cole. They took bold chances in trades to get guys like Aroldis Chapman and Giancarlo Stanton and Frankie Montas.
Sometimes the shyt just doesn't work out.

What do you guys think a new GM is going to do? Toss 500 million to Shohei Ohtani? Like Cashman isn't going to try that this winter?

Dudes need to stop being so short-sighted.
Cashman has done a lot right in recent years. You guys just focus on all the negatives and not the positives.

It'll be April 2033, with the Yankees still not winning anything since 2009, and you'll probably still be saying the same thing.

Cape for Brian Cashman, brehs :unimpressed:

There’s nothing Cashman has done the last 15 years that random dudes in other organizations couldn’t have

NGL I thought this was funny :heh:

Someone in a post last year showed the yankees record in the playoffs the last 20 years versus the twins and against everyone else and it’s really shocking
