Apart from Serena, the Olympics and when she had the machine behind her Ronnie. Does the American media even care about women in sport like that? Obviously boxing should do better for her, but it seems to be a bigger issue than just solely pinning it on boxing.

Why, Holly Holm started training martial arts at an older age than Shields, and she was nowhere near the athlete or boxer, and became the champion, fi she was younger, she probably would've dominated MMA

In 2-3 years she will be one of the best in the world easily

Detroit You bytch Ass nikka
Ugh, JW, I wish she went elsewhere

If she gets good with her legs it's a wrap, she will dominate as a puncher, if she becomes a great "striker" though (kicks, bows, knees, mui tai, ect) she will dominate that shyt.

When you see dudes like Izzy and Bones Jones with that small frame NEVER get taken down, you don't have to be great on the ground. Izzy last 3 fights were against bigger dudes with heavier hands. Clarissa will be the "big" fighter on most occasions and her hand speed would still be tops in the sport. She will fukk around and be a superstar low key.

Chuck had good take-down defence vs wrestlers. If she can even get that sort of technique down, she good.

She doesn't need to even think about her legs. Chuck didn't us his legs and was able to dominate LHW. All she really needs to worry about is getting her takedown defense to a decent level. Her hands alone will make her better than yhe majority of the women she will face. If she can keep them from taking her down, like I said she will walk through most of her opponents.

yawns

She needs to do everything she can to make the Savannah Marshall fight. That's the one fight she has that everyone wants to see. Don't really care about her mma bouts until that happens first.

and female boxers need to start promoting and marketing towards women. So sick and tired of those sexist unfair excuses when its men keeping your career alive.

Women’s boxing is more visible now than it ever was. Women's boxing suffers from lack of name recognition.

I think her team need to do better job making her a star. She is a black female athlete and the undisputed champion. She is gets no love in the black girl magic section of social media or conversation. She isn’t mentioned as a rising star with athletes like Naomi Osaka .

Same goes for Jessica McCaskill, she holds all the welterweight belts and had a fight in the streets of Tulsa . A black women fought in Tulsa during all the civil unrest and won a belt and how many people know this?

Womens boxing needs better promotion and they need to fight for 3 minutes but these women got to start promoting themselves. Selling fitness to these chicks or get better brand affiliation. Cause if fukking Jake Paul and Nate Robinson can garner that much attention you can do get at least 1/2 of that.

Yup I feel you.
Women boxers have to promote themselves better as well as start marketing to more women. Men are the ones that support women boxing the most. Ain't too much more you can get out of nikkas.
Shields also needs to learn how to stop people. Knockouts will get your name buzzing when all else fails.

True like even in MMA most of your crossover fans watching are men.
I got a list of grips about how female fighters are seen and treated. When they actually out here showing the fighting spirt and strength. Bet if she got shot in the foot the whole world would love her .

apparently she made $750k in her last fight. is it possible to get anywhere near that much in a MMA bout? even in the UFC
kinda don't like this for her. still young and can eat off boxing relatively safely. going to mma increases probability she takes a L and i kinda get wilder vibes from her (re: if she lost bad in match)

I don't think there's many left for her to fight in boxing. If she stays there she might run out of opponents and paydays.

There's a much larger audience for female MMA. If women's boxing is the WNBA, women's MMA is more like women's Tennis or Soccer.

It's an interesting thought... Is the lack of interest in women's boxing a promotional issue, sexism issue, or something else?

I think it's none of the above. It's just stylistically not as entertaining or interesting to watch as the men's version, and that's the reason why a lot of women's sports flop. A lot of people keep thinking it must be sexism or something and that's not the case, women's sports flop because the men's version is just better to watch. Women's MMA and men's MMA don't feel like a dramatic drop off in entertainment, they don't handicap the women much and there isn't much that the men do in their fights that the women don't, as opposed to the WNBA vs the NBA where women can't dunk and they are visibly less skilled at dribbling, shooting, etc.

On top of that, but they spend all their energy trying to shame the male demographic into watching instead of figuring out how they can draw in the female demographic. Sadly in the case of combat sports, most women are not only not interested in watching, they think it's too brutal/barbaric.
