How can anyone defend the gameplay of that game, I can see you liking the story but every single mission was identical.

I enjoyed the game but I never understood it being heralded as a classic the way it was.
Same losers saying this and GTA 4 are boring thinks that wack ass saints row 2 is the best sandbox game of this gen

And I can tell by the responses some of you have not truly played this game. To say its one big open wasteland is false. There are so many various locations in this game. From the prairie lands, actual early 20th century cities, mexican deserts, snowy mountain areas, forest/wetlands, etc. Plus you didn't ride your horse fro one end of the map to the other. There were multiple fast travel stations everywhere. Plus the acting and story was one of the best ever. Be honest for one people
Yes I can. Have you beaten rdr or at least played halfway through? Then you would know the mission ramp up and get much more intense as you progress further into areas such as Mexico, the snow top areas, etc. Meanwhile, shyts row is just mindless run and gun into a building with unlimited ammo nonsense
So please inform me about all the varying missions.
I got far into Mexico and just stopped because it was just shoot out after shootout in and big empty spaces.
Now see that's just your opinion and you are entitled to it, but its lacking. Mexico has by far the most diverse missions. From raiding trains to storming army compounds with mexican rebels, there was more then just random shootouts. Plus even if that wasnt your thing, there are numerous side missions and challenges to jeep you occupied. That's why I say some of you guys are dishonest. If the game isnt your style just say that. But to dismiss it as boring is false
Plus its the wild west. Of course the majority of missions revolve around gun play and shootouts. The issue is why you are doing it as it relates to the context of the story, which is one of the best things about RDR

Boring is an opinion, and the fact that so many people who don't like the game cite that reason, couldn't it be possible ?
The world was just barren, and while that was the idea, it doesn't make for an interesting video game.
A game like Skyrim is so cool because even though it's a lot of open land, there is a lot of intriguing stuff in that open land.
