Palpatine is no slouch with a lightsaber though which shows just how good Mace was. But Palpatine was more about using that Force LighteningIt's ill that Episode III shows why the Emperor feared Luke becoming a true Jedi so much, it's because he simply can be beaten.
Mace pulled his card and remember Palpatine even tries to run from Yoda in the beginning. According to George a focused Anakin was also stronger in Episode III.

if I'm not mistaken the old EU were never canon. Outside of names and species I don't Lucas paid it any mind.Mace is better than Palpatine with a lightsaber. His fighting style Vaapad is fueled by a darksider's emotions.
But in terms of Force prowess, Palpatine > Yoda.
1.Abeloth
2.Luke (As grandmaster)
3. Palpatine
That is until Disney ruined everything.
Ain't nobody fukkin wit prime yoda.
I thought EU was canon pre-Disney hence me saying Disney f*cked everything up?if I'm not mistaken the old EU were never canon. Outside of names and species I don't Lucas paid it any mind.
Disney itself is taking bits of EU which us why Ben Solo exists in the movies now.I thought EU was canon pre-Disney hence me saying Disney f*cked everything up?
George Lucas isn't even aware of the scope of the universe he created. Don't get me wrong I adore the man (n/h) for creating such a universe but in retrospect the flaws of the OG trilogy and prequels make it hard for me to enjoy as much as the EU.
The EU >>>>>>> All 7 soon to be 8 films.
And that is a rare occurrence in fiction.
When the equivalent of sanctioned fan fiction is superior to the original work.
