I think it's about time to get rid of "Face/Heel" dynamic

I was reading the Wade Barrett thread and it dawn on me that the whole "heel/face" aspect of wrestling seems dated as hell. It was even questionable in the 80s with The Horsemen being cheered despite their wrong doings to Dusty. Why promotions rely on such a bland trend, when the reality is that wrestling fans can change with a drop of a hat? Hell look at Roman Reigns, dude gets booed and shytted on throughout his solo career (for the wrong and right reasons), but when he started losing his shyt (beating up Trips), the crowd lost their shyt.

Bottom line, if kayfabe is a joke nowadays...this heel/face shyt needs to be a punchline as well:camby:

Didn't Triple H say they no longer do face/heels? Granted it was a technical defence mechanism to defuse Roman Reigns the face who gets boo'd but:yeshrug:..

Didn't Roman get boo'd like 2 weeks after they finally accepted him? :mjlol:

And its a matter of the guys and girls of actually trying to be a heel. Stop giving crowds shyt to sing along to, stop trying to be "cool"

That's more of Vince's fault due to dude's infatuation with wrestlers being walking See and Says:scust:.At least Punk did his best to be a heel without the corny bullshyt that seems face like.

Punk was such a great heel, not once did he pander to the crowd as a heel, I remember during the pipebomb the fans were cheering him and he was like "I don't know why y'all muhfukkas cheering, y'all part of the problem :dame: ".

No matter the name you put it, people need a reason to watch people wrestle each other. When the booking is abysmal, no matter if it's a face, heel, tweener, troll, shyt is not gonna work.

The Attitude Era was filled with "shades of grey" and tweeners. And still had Vince being the most traditional heel possible leading the biggest drawing angle for years.

Nahhhhhhhhh, you need faces & heels in this business. Just a matter of listening to the audience & knowing how to book proper heels & faces.

This is exactly it.

WRESTLING IS SIMPLE. YOU HAVE A BAD GUY AND A GOOD GUY, YOU BOOK YOUR SHOW AND CHARACTERS SO YOU WANT TO SEE THE BAD GUY GET HIS JUST DUES IN THE END BECAUSE HE KEEPS fukkING WITH THE FACE.

Where WWE have gone wrong, is, instead of listening to the fans and letting them choose the faces, and gauging when the crowd is turning on them to initiate heel turns for them. They just cram a dude down your throat (Cena, Reigns) until he's forced into neutral territory and they have to book him neutral, ruining the show.

To WWE a FACE is their cashcow. It's how they survive. So, if they get any semblance of a top face in the making. They will desperately force him down our throat instead of growing them organically.
