I think I know why the Netflix ratings are going down every week & EC ticket sales got so low that The Rock was called in by TKO execs

I'm not a wrestling purist--shyt I stopped watching this shti from like 2002/2003 to 2022--but, I'm noticing that wrestling is about "content," now.

It's about;
  • Audience pops
  • Audience sing-a-longs
  • Long elaborate entrances
  • This bullshyt "OMG, look what they are wearing! It's so deep!" (I love all three of these sistas, BTW)

Its like an algorithm is telling them what to do.

Every thing is about CONTENT now. And people aren't trying to be pay thousands of dollars for seats for a content fest mixed with promos and ads.

You see with the house shows. They can't monetize them so they get rid of them like THAT.

Remember when they started posting House Show results and had ppl in qualifying matches there.

If TKO can't pull content from it, they won't be happy.

We now have a damn Writer's Room show about the WWE, now :mjlol:

*Jey celebrates, on RAW, overcoming the odds*

*promote a show where HHH tells Jey that he's getting a main event push backstage*

It's all about triggering Social Media and viral moments and make those moments last for a few days and then rinse and repeat for the next week. This has become even more prominent in the Sports World and other forms of entertainment as well. 15mins of fame has now become 5mins and then someone else will replace you and more often its by the end of the week.

To be fair I thought last Monday was a great raw
For sure because the Main event segment felt like the Attitude Era (minus Seth coming out with the same damn entrance and loud clothes).

HHH, four months ago, would've dragged this shyt on for months THEN reveal Bron Breakker as the 2 man.

  • We got actual stars at the show (Roman, CM Punk)
  • They got physical
  • A actual big reveal (:russell:Rusev) with the Bron reveal
  • And a actual big story that changes the main event picture
My only complaint...I'm thinking Laveck is gonna keep Seth/Bron away from Jey for a long time while he prolly defends against a jabroni--people are really calling for Jey first defense to be Logan Paul....when we did damn near the same with Cody last year.

That explained that extra Logan Paul dikk sucking Cena, Rock, and McAfee was doing

The ratings don't mean much. I don't know how accurate the Netflix numbers even are... they haven't been impressive but who knows. The ratings for SD! have been ass. But the ticket sales for the most part (some exceptions like 'Elimination Chamber' ) have still been doing well, people are buying enough tickets at crazy prices to increase revenue etc..

I don't think Hunter's booking is going to be questioned unless ticket sales plummet. You did just witness Ari stepping in though. Confirmed by The Rock. So Ari and the TKO boys ain't above telling Hunter what to do.

The only problem I've seen (because realistically, ain't nobody gettin' fired anytime soon) is the TKO influence and how it's been trying to transform this shyt into the wrestling version of UFC. Things like the celebs in the crowd and sponsorships isn't anything new that WWF/E hasn't been doing forever. But the way they've started to use it like THAT's part of the draw is noticeable. These ticket prices, all them logos in the ring, incorporating the sponsors into the wrestling content, etc., along with this news of how they brought Rock around for the hell of it just to move tickets for one show- that's when corporate takes over and is now showing that it's THEIR company now. They (and Netflix as well) still need the creatives around for the show because they don't know shyt about doing that part, but once the creatives put that together, TKO and Netflix cover it in what they think the show needs to be "bigger". We've been seeing this play out recently, especially at Mania. Fans wanted Vince out of his seat because he wasn't as good with creative anymore and insisted on controlling it, but this new stuff TKO is implementing is gonna show that overall, he ran the company better than they're going to. The internet is on this "fire HHH" line dance now, but let's say it happens- high likelihood is that MFs REALLY ain't gonna like who he gets replaced with.

Yall are bugged out for thinking TKO is making any moves on HHH after two/three years while Dana White is still fukking up UFC with his antics. Change isnt coming yall. White people in positions of power usually lead to mid to disastrous results. Its written all over history.

I 100% get what you're saying and getting HHH fired ain't gonna fix much when the below is the format of WWE weekly programming, now.

And the matches between the top talen has become like UFC where the top stars only fight on PLE's versus. But, on a weekly basis, only Top guys go against ppl we all know they gonna beat.

We used to get Rock/Austin in the ring in some way on weekly RAW.

Championships rarely get defended...etc, etc.

The weekly shows feel so superfluous. The reason why last RAW's main event was so crazy, because it felt like something that can rock the show for weeks to come.

Just make the shows can't miss more often.

Raw on Netflix been a corporate slopfest that might as well be categorized as a 2 1/2 hour infomercial with wrestling in between

Opening promo
“Hey here’s a Netflix comedian in the crowd!”
First match
“Hey here’s a Netflix comedian in the crowd!”
Second match
“Hey here’s a random musician in the crowd!”
3 straight segments
Advertisements about upcoming WWE events
“Here’s the local sports team in the crowd”
Main Event

Good point.

If you remember, when wwe network first came out, Vince did some crazy stuff for subs.

-UT srreak broken
-Goldberg randomly coming back and SQUASHING PRIME Brock Lesnar
- There was something crazy happening every few months

Something was always happening that you could tell was forced to drive subs.

Netflix needed that same thing, but Vince is gone to force the issue.

It was always unsuitable, the casuals will only ever turn up for the big ticket events
The prices are so exorbitant that the only casuals that can afford them are celebrities who are probably getting comps anyway. What casual fan drops $20k+ for one show a year that they don't keep up with?

All this dialogue. :skip:

This happens with everything in life people.

ITS ALL ABOUT MONEY!

Nothing else. They are just trying to maximize profit. The actual wrestling product is secondary because the fans are going to watch regardless.

They can probably really careless about storytelling and builds. shyt don’t matter they got the money already :mjlol:

Yeah but people leave out that in those days, you might get Rock and Austin in some form of match on TV but they'd also be 7 minutes and end in a DQ. :heh:
