Can't honestly say I care if cats still bump his music cause they want to be edgy or they genuinely like it but personally it really never meant shyt to me anyway outside of "Your Body's Calling" "I Wish" and maybe "Keep It On The Downlow" — yes I'm including the stuff he wrote for others.

So are we saying it was normal in America for grown men to fukk teenage girls under 15 in the 90’s?

Surely not?

I’ve known it to happen (when I was in school), but it certainly wasn’t normal and usually by social weirdos.

Yeah, let's "hope", I'm really looking forward to more girls getting their lives fukked up so I can hear a hot song.

I don't support what R. Kelly did at all

However, the timing of this whole thing was kinda fishy.

It was proven that some of those chicks weren't being truthful

Do I think R. Kelly was guilty? yup.
Do I think they really went out of their way to make an example out of him while the same shyt happens everywhere else by law? Yup.

So how is twitter, reddit, etc. not melting down about the fact that in over half the country you can get married under the age of 16?
...as of January 2022, in the 41 states that have set a marriage age by statute, the lower minimum marriage age when all exceptions are taken into account, are:
  • 1 state has a minimum age of 14: Alaska
  • 3 states have a minimum age of 15.
  • 22 states have a minimum age of 16.
  • 9 states have a minimum age of 17.
  • 6 states have a minimum age of 18.

According to data compiled by Anjali Tsui, Dan Nolan, and Chris Amico, who looked at almost 200,000 cases of child marriage from 2000-2015:

  • 67% of the children were aged 17.
  • 29% of the children were aged 16.
  • 4% of the children were aged 15.
  • <1% of the children were aged 14 and under.
  • There were 51 cases of 13-year-olds getting married, and 6 cases of 12-year-olds getting married.
Extreme examples include a case in 2010 in Idaho, where a 65-year-old man married a 17-year-old girl. In Alabama, a 74-year-old man married a 14-year-old girl, though the state has since raised its minimum age to 16.[31] According to Unchained At Last, the youngest girls to marry in 2000-2010 were three Tennessee 10-year-old girls who married men aged 24, 25, and 31, respectively, in 2001. With the youngest boy to marry being an 11-year-old, who married a 27-year-old woman in Tennessee in 2006.

Child marriage in the United States - Wikipedia

In more than half the country you can get married before the age of 16 and R. Kelly is the big problem?

Those men and women in the government giving this the thumbs up and that "good ol' ok!" are ruining exponentially more women than R. Kelly did.

shyt is lopsided today. Afghanistan has tougher laws on child marriage than half the United States does, literally.

That was only included aaliyah which was iffy given the parental involvement:yeshrug:. He was convicted mainly on the racketeering and cult shyt

:mjlol:

He DID sexually exploit Aaliyah and he WAS convicted of that. He DID sexually molest that 14-year-old girl he pissed on in the video and he DID bribe all the witnesses in order to get away with that shyt. He DID sexually abuse numerous other high school girls which has been clearly documented over and over. In addition he's face a ton of other child sex charges. You're not helping the world by trying to run cover for a child molester who has ruined dozens of lives and gotten away with 99% of his crimes.

"On top of awaiting sentencing in this New York case, Kelly will face a second federal trial on charges of child pornography and obstruction of justice in Illinois. Some of those accusations are related to a 2008 child pornography trial in Chicago in which he was acquitted of all charges.

Additionally, Kelly faces outstanding criminal charges in both Cook County, Ill., where he was indicted by the state attorney in February 2019 for aggravated criminal sexual abuse involving four victims (three of them minors), and in Minnesota, where Kelly was charged in August 2019 with engaging in prostitution with a minor."

All of that is just as true but when you put Epstein's name in it can you realize how stupid you sound? :francis:

You're either full of shyt or ignorant if you think what R. Kelly was doing "happens everyone else by law". :scust:

R. Kelly was bringing dozens or hundreds of minors as young as 13 and 14 back to his place to fukk, photograph, piss on, and sexually degrade in numerous ways. He was literally rounding girls up at the local high school, there are numerous stories of young girls' lives that he completely ruined with his debasing, degrading conduct.

That shyt is NOT legal "everywhere else". The abuse he's guilty of would get him locked up in every state in America on the producing child pornography charges alone.

R. Kelly isn't some poor innocent sadly getting put in jail for shyt that is allowed for everyone else. He's a fukking predator with a massive victim count who would have been thrown under the jail 20 years ago if he wasn't rich as fukk and manipulating the courts with his money and influence.

^^^^ this is way before 2002. And we were supposed to believe that nobody cared about Aaliyah's age.
If people really cared like that, he wouldn't had the career he did

his biggest hits came after or during their 'marriage'. One article in VIBE doesn't change the norm of the 90's.

Check this out, dawg..

R. Kelly made some dope music BUT if we're gonna have the microscope on him, then we gotta look at every artist in the 60's-80's(Marvin Gaye, Mick Jagger, Rick James, etc).

I ain't with the picking and choosing.

Agree to disagree breh

You're literally using whataboutism to run cover for one of the worst child sex predators of our era. :dwillhuh:

People cared as that whole relationship ALWAYS looked funny in the light. People knew Aaliyah was underage and R. Kelly was in his 20's. This was even brought up in interviews with Aaliyah years after the fact. She declined to talk about the marriage or acknowledge anything beyond a producer/artist relationship.
Back in the days a few celebs had a young chick on deck.

Ted nugent and Steve Tyler tried to bring a 17yr old on tour...I think Ted tried to get permission from. Her parents so she could go on tour.

That has no bearing on him getting out the game. R. Kelly was a hit machine. People, especially celebs, got away with much more back then. Prime example, if Dr. Dre put hands on Dee Barnes in 2022, his career would be over.

People cared, but caring =/= accountability.
