I still believe Shady can do more with Yela and Slaughterhouse for Round 2

Im amazed at how bad they dropped the ball. Especially with Yela, he could be a bonafide star but his album dropped with no promo and barely any input from the label. It sucked, but it had a few potential singles that couldve worked at radio. He had indie credibility and even street cred to a degree, and made the least indie, least street album possible

Slaughterhouse...I vented enough in those threads last month. They had everything at their fingertips and they squandered it with that frisbee

Am i the only one here that thinks Royce has STAR POWER??? seriously?? ya'll don't hear it??? :snoop:

first off, he has a diverse unique flow that is plesant to the ears, this dude can literally take any beat and MURDER IT just off the flow, I don't think you guys understand just how he is BLESSED to have the flow that he has!!

On Sinners dwell, that beat is what currently most "commercial artist" spit on nowadays, you're telling me that he doesn't compete with most commercial artist out there??

Then you have him with charisma on this commercial joint, I mean you would think Jay-Z would make a hit with this one, but Royce does it better! something that Jay would do a commercial song over

[ame=http://youtu.be/d6OU_D5pgts]Royce Da 5'9" Ft. Mr. Porter - Mine In Thiz (Prod. By Mr. Porter) - YouTube[/ame]

This right here sounds something Jeezy would do a song over, yet Royce once again does it better than what Jeezy is capable of, with charisma and FLOW!

These are just 3 examples, don't tell me Royce has NO STAR POWER when in fact he has every package an MC needs to take over the underground and commercial scene at the same time, I can't believe I'm the only one that sees this... seriously.. :dwillhuh:

Royce has no star power...none of them do outside of maybe budden...he's a VH1 reality show away from a Lil Scrappy/Stevie J level of relevance and fame, that he could possibly parlay into one last go at a mainstream solo career

SINY!!
It went gold because Eminems name was attached to it. Take him out of the equation and you have an aging, out of touch rapper who's good at writing metaphors about nothing but still after all these years has no concept of how to make a well written song or connect with listeners outside of his limited fanbase.

He'll never push big numbers so his fans should just accept it for what it is and look forward to whatever low budget mixtapes he drops before he retires.

Agreed.....Success is Certain dropped a little before/after BME, and it flopped. Even though it was released on an indy, just the Em co-sign should have inflated his units sold.

As for Yela, he didnt even need to go major. That was his biggest mistake. Had he stayed indy he would be doing much better. Radioactive was a decent album IMO.....That Slaughterhouse album though.....eh

I have a feeling if interscope gave Yela and Slaughter a 2nd album that this time it'll do a lot better and they'll have better quality music, if i was the label, i wouldn't give up just yet, just kind of have them do what the fans loved about them in the first place, I still believe that they have what it takes to sell units!

Theres a reason sh formed a group because they were failures as solo artists. Yelawolf is a slap in the face to hip hop because the only reason he's even signed to attract a white fanbase

This guy C Styles is wiling. Joe Budden is obviously the most popular member of Slaughterhouse and the only one with the charisma to blow. A Joel Ortiz and Budden album would do better than a Slaughterhouse album if promoted right and with the right production and backing. They are the only two members who can probably get on tracks with other mainstream artists and not sound out of place.

I don't really feel that Royce has "star power", but I agree with the OP that he knows how to write hit songs... but it's pretty safe to say that he will never be a gold/platinum status artist.

now Budden on the other hand, has an album with Wayne/Big Sean/Chris Brown/John Legend/Wale features which he'll drop sooner or later.. add some reality show type of situation, major distribution & he could actually end up being somewhat popular "almost mainstream" artist.

as far as SH goes, I can see them maybe dropping another album on Shady which could probably end up being somewhat more succesful but it's way too early to tell because they haven't even talked about SH's future yet. And I don't know what type of deal they signed.

but fukk all that...the MOST important thing is that Budden will drop that #ALQ later this year, at the end of the day... dope music = dope music

Shady 2.0 was a failure at the end of the day. Both dropped album none cares about at the end of the day. Nothing memorable, nothing to really stamp their brand on the game. I really think musically they would have done better on a indie and if they just toured a lot they could still make some decent money.
