The hottest sports ticket in LA last night was Chino Hills vs. Bishop Montgomery at Cerritos College, so me and my boys decided to check it out. Chino Hills is ranked #1 in the nation and Bishop Montgomery is #2 in California behind them., both were 21-0 coming into the game. Gym was packed and they was charging $50 for a courtside seat to a damn HS game. Some of the old heads there was telling us it was the biggest high school game in California since LeBron played at Pauley Pavilion in 2003.
Chino Hills has the Ball brothers - senior Lonzo is #5 player in the nation and going to UCLA, junior Li Angelo and freshman La Melo (who committed at age 13) have all committed to UCLA as well. Bishop Montgomery has basically no seniors, all talented underclassman like wing players 6-6/6-5 juniors Ethan Thompson and Jordan Schakel, and sophomore wing David Singleton.
Bishop Montgomery actually lead almost the whole game and really choked it away late, they should have won that game, and to keep it a stack, Lonzo Ball got the clamps put on him by Ethan Thompson. He shot 2 for 21 but did have a triple double. Was not impressed. That youngster La Melo is gonna be a real problem though, he's amazing for a 14 year old PG. Even though they got the L I thought Bishop Montgomery's David Singleton (#21 in the video) and Thompson (#5 in the video) was actually the two best players on the floor.
Main reason I'm posting is to put ya'll onto these
young brothers who are gonna be household names soon - between the 3 Ball brothers, thre guys on Bishop Montgomery and a few other youngsters on both teams, I think there's no less than six 5-star prospects that we'll see in college ball in the next couple of years in that game last night.
