And wasnt BHop ducking a Roy Jones Jr rematch too during the 90's as well?
If my memory serves me correct they were both on some bullshyt...

Roy was insistent on 60/40 cuz he had beaten Hopkins...Hopkins was all its my way or the highway and wouldn't take less than 50/50 cuz he had just beat Tito and generated half a million in PPV buys...Roy never did more than 300K but he had that HBO contract he was eating real good off fighting bums...

They should of agreed to 50/50, neither guy was a big draw but I always sided with Roy on this one...Why take less money when you already beat this dude and HBO is paying you $5 million to beat on tomato cans?

Bernard has a legit argument as the best figher of this generation along with Roy Manny and Floyd. Just look at the names he has beaten in the last few years alone. He has beaten Trinidad, Tarver, Wright, Pavlik, Pascal, and none of those fighters have been the same since. Jermain Taylor got the decisions over him but we all know who really won at least one of those fights and we know how Taylor looked after those fights. Even his loss to Calzaghe could be argued as Bernard being robbed. He has never taken a beating in the ring and i can see Nard easily fighting until he is 50 at the least.

goons in the cut tryna talk you out yo necklace
Who here saw the almost 50 year old handle business last night? Okay than, enjoy that shyt because you will never see someone like Hopkins ever again.

Let me tell you why Hopkins will forever be more RESPECTED and already has a better HOF career than that coward Mr. Mayweather.

- Hopkins has better resume, and fought better competition
- Hopkins is already above Floyd in the ATG category
- Doesnt need to act like a buffoon and throw out money to seek attention.
- Hopkins never retired twice and took multiple vacations to duck a fighter. He went out and fought the best (win. lose. or draw). Cant say the same for Floyd.
- Hopkins never let his age become an excuse not to fight. Floyd has.

- Hopkins served 5 years in the penitentiary. Floyd started to cry and complain about water within two weeks being in jail (not the pen...Las Vegas Jail!). :russ:

To sum it up

Hopkins = a REAL G and true Champion. :myman:

Floyd = the h*& azz coward that acts like a female :usure:
Hopkins lost his last fight and did nothing impressive last night. Pretty sure Floyd fukked your bytch.:pachaha: you STAY hatin. Carry on, lil nikka AKA Black Jesus.

i dont think he was on some bullshyt at all
60-40 is MORE den fair

if hopkins really wanted revenge and to avenge his L he would took dat deal in a heart beat

request 50 50 if you win and if there's a third fight but he really had no leverage

I usually avoid boxing threads on the coli simply because I don't think dudes on here know anything about boxing. This thread is another example. Hopkins is definitely a great fighter, but you can easily pick apart the bullshyt he has done.

Hopkins is a businessman first when it comes to boxing.

Look at his fight against Robert Allen. He intentionally "falls" out of the ring and gets paid for 4 rounds of work. Proceeds to have a rematch and beat Robert Allen. That right there guaranteed him 2 paychecks.

He also "fell" out of the ring against Dawson. He got a good paycheck for just 2 rounds of work. Also, it guaranteed him another slot on HBO for the rematch.

Dude hustles man. If you give him a way to make some easy money he will take it. Let's not forget the numerous fights where he will act as if he is getting fouled and complain to the ref about it so they will take away a point. His behavior in some of these fights (Calzaghe, RJJ 2 fight) were ridiculous.

Let's not act like Hopkins does not cherry pick either. Hopkins picks fights that he's confident he will win. Do you remember when Dawson was undefeated and Hopkins did not want that fight? Pascal beats Dawson, and suddenly Hopkins wants to fight Pascal. Pascal was seen as a vulnerable champion. He finally decided to fight Dawson eventually when he was confident he could beat him, but that kinda backfired. Hopkins has always been a huge cherry picker, but he gets a pass because of his age.

I got nothing but love and respect for Hopkins but I can't sit here and allow the double standard in this thread to continue...

TS obviously never heard of Hopkins before the Trinidad fight...

Where were you in the mid 90's when Hopkins stayed in a weak MW division beating on tomato can and never was type dudes for 8 years?

Why you not shytting on Hopkins for him and Roy much like Floyd/Manny never coming to terms and fighting while they were both in their primes? That would have been one of the biggest fight in the sport back in the late 90's early 00's...

BHop was stuck in that shytty DOn King promotional deal till 2004 which contributed to a lot of the missed opportunities in his career in the 902/early 2000s.

lol all of the stuff you are complaining about against Floyd has nothing to do with boxing. You are too focused on all the extra shyt that floyd does in which I could care less about as I know that it is apart of his 'schick' and is apart of entertainment for the sport of boxing.

I appreciate both fighters and they are both great at what they do.

Like BHOP best wins weren't against WW, like BHOP aint have 20 straight title defenses fighting bums, like BHOP aint openly duck Roy more shameful than when Manny ducked Floyd
