I really wish they did spin offs or even stretched out the story for more seasons...
They were suppose to do that Julius Caesar spin-off then Crassus son took his culo and that was that

You can tell John Hannah (Batiatus) was having a blast.
I wanted to check out this show, but knowing the lead actor passed away after the first season beforehand takes away from the suspense. Also Sam Raimi in the cut tells me this has Xena the Warrior Princess vibes
SPARTACUS is in my top 6 of all time TV series. The characters and actors were great. And the action was top notch. It also had legendary quotables.
