Redman definitely has some joint that take you back to the 90s, to my childhood in the early to mid 90s, summers in NYC, to watching his videos on The Box. He definitely has his place in hip hop's history, but i've never been able to listen to his albums like that.

This joint was one of my favorites back in high school:

He has "energy."

nikka been wack forever. Unbearable verses that his fans swear are classic. I know this opinion is blasphemous but I agree with you 100%. Dude has so many embarrassingly wack lines I lost track of them a long time ago. That being said, he has his moments - there are at least half a dozen songs of his I can genuinely enjoy.

:mindblown:Wait you like a weird nikka like Kool Keith, but don't really fukk with one the rawest, unique, and elite skilled emcees to ever do it?

And he is from my hometown, Brick city NJ, which makes it suck even more. All the incoherent yelling, his voice is horrible and his subject matter ain't shyt. The nikka is quite annoying. Its funny cause I see plenty nikkaz who like his shyt. If u like Redman put me on to some fire shyt u like

i respect your opinion and love honest posting whether you young or old or in the middle.

everything you said actually holds weight in some form or another so all ya points were understood.

the redman you are actually lookin for is far and in between; as in smooth calm collected.

i wish he spit like that more often honestly. the albums i consider to be his "smoothest" are muddy waters and docs da name 2000. even the way he flowed over the track with busta rhymes was not usual red

also this music video was fire, one of my favorites

also i would hope/think this song should make you feel some sort of hometown pride

hopefully dislikin redman doesnt mean you a joe button fan and supportin him though

While we're making random confessions...

I never liked Pusha T

never really been big on the clipse but his confession wasnt random, hes from newark.

your confession is though unless your from VA

Low key self-exposal.

Redman's chit is witty, and you have to "get" a lot of it.
I've met a couple people who have said this, and they weren't very smart.

i agree it is a self exposal but that isnt necessarily a negative.

for instance maybe homey is young. redman makes a lot of old references, i could understand a kid not knowing wtf hes talkin about (along with other WU affiliated acts

How you from Newark and don't like Redman :what:

Negged off GP

lol yo whos the dopest artist from baltimore?

I like redman but just can't get into his albums like that :ld:

ive heard this plenty of times before. everything isnt for everyone and as long as you appreciate him (even from a distance) its fine.

He has "energy."

respect ya input and like i told homey honesty always gets the applaud from me.

though you know the first thing i thought of after i read your post?

roc mar vs reggie noble

lol

I sincerely have never met anyone in my life that doesn't like Redman. And I don't think I ever remember reading anything posted by someone on the net stating they don't like him before this thread either. One of the best to ever do it. He done influenced so many, it's crazy.

this X 2

lol clever, pos rep

Redman was my favorite MC during the 90's. He's fell off to me around Malpractice but his first 4 albums, the Def Squad album and Blackout are incredible. Plus he was killing every feature he was on back then.

i used to have debates back then and my homies would say redman and i would argue for nas or camron

it was the best of times not the worst.

I can understand not liking redman but to say he's wack as fukk?:dwillhuh:

If he's wack then who isn't? Not saying he's the goat but I can't think of anybody blowing him out the water either

On another not honestly I never liked krs but I don't think he's wack.. He's just the only one from that time period I couldn't get into.. I understand what he meant to the culture though
